2007-05-27 Bulletin

We are God's Children—gathered by Him in love—to bring glory to the Triune God, to pray, to seek the lost, to nurture the young in the Lord, to care for the hurting, and to encourage one another. We do this in obedience to His Word.

Elections will take place this morning after the service.

We ask that all professing members of Bethel remain for the voting. If anyone has absentee ballots, please hand them in before the voting takes place.

The following have been nominated for the offices of elder, youth elder, and deacon;

For Elder: Henry Geldof, Ray Merkus, Bryan Noordhof and Peter Prins. Of these 2 will be elected.

For Youth Elder: Phil Tenbrinke

For Deacon: Rod Duckett, Herman Scholing Jr., Donald Wildeboer and Marja VanderVlis. Of these 2 will be elected.

Installation of the new office bearers will take place on June 10th.

At this time we also wish to thank those who are retiring: Henry Eisses, August Luymes, Paul Prins, Ed Stol and Rod Venhuis.

Church Family

This past Monday, Pastor Mike had the unfortunate experience of breaking his leg. He was in the Lacombe hospital until Wednesday when he was transferred to Red Deer for surgery in order to have it set. It was hoped that he could return home on Friday. We pray for God’s wonderful peace and loving healing.

Remember Our Youth at YC and their leaders this weekend. Pray that they would be refreshed and renewed and that they would be encouraged in their walk with God. May they come home safely later on this evening.

Continue to remember our shut-ins: Ann Swier, Margaret Bos, Theresa Salomons, Tena Ellen and Jackie Hartenhof.

Flower Ministry

This week Pastor Mike will receive the flowers. We pray that they will bring cheer and refreshment to the days as he recuperates and rests. God’s blessings as you heal Pastor Mike.

Prayer for the Persecuted Church

Madhya Pradesh, India

Pastor Kunal Pariacha, an evangelist from the Indian Evangelical Mission, was attacked by members of the Siva Sena Hindu militant group in Narayanpur village, Madhya Pradesh while he was preparing show the Jesus film on the evening of May 14. Militants beat Pastor Pariacha and dragged him to the local police station where a complaint was registered against him under Section 153 of the Indian Penal Code and Section 4 of the Madhya Pradesh Freedom of Religion Act. He was brought to court on May 15 but denied bail.
Pray that all charges against Pastor Kunal will be dropped and that he will be released. Ask that his persecution will embolden his faith (Acts 4:29 -31). Ask God to enable Indian Christians to proclaim the Gospel even while suffering (2 Timothy 4:16-18).
