We are God's Children—gathered by Him in love—to bring glory to the Triune God, to pray, to seek the lost, to nurture the young in the Lord, to care for the hurting, and to encourage one another. We do this in obedience to His Word.

Prayer for the Persecuted ChurchLAOSAt least 13 Christian villagers who were falsely accused of stirring rebel dissent, have been killed by authorities in Laos over the past month. 200 Christians in the village Sai Jerern have been arrested and imprisoned. Most of them were Hmong refugees that fled persecution in Vietnam. They strongly deny association with anti-government forces. One of those killed was Neng Mua, who had been hiding from the police. On July 7 he returned to his native village in search of food and was shot dead by a one-time friend who suspected that he was a member of the 'liberation army'. On July 8, Seng Wue was shot to death by police after he and other Christians suffering fatigue and hunger came out of hiding and surrendered. Authorities are reportedly searching rice fields and mountains for Christians and shooting them on sight. On July 13, eight Christians were shot by soldiers searching for leaders of the Church. Pray for peace for Christians in Laos in the midst of this violence. Pray that Christians may stand firm in their faith, despite the difficulties they face. Ask God to comfort those who have lost loves ones. Bethel YouthThe 3rd annual Calaway Park tripis booked and ready to go!!!! Thursday August 23, 2007 at 8am our bus will be pulling out of the Bethel parking lot. The cost for the trip will be set at $10 and the price for admission into the park with a 50% off coupon will be $13.50 plus G.S.T. Coupons can be found in the student union paks or the mail hand outs. If you need one, I’ll have them on hand that day. Normal ratio would be one adult to ten students. After a fun filled day our bus will arrive home again at approximately 6 - 6:30pm. This activity is open to all students going into grade 7 to grade 12. Please feel free to invite your friends for a fun day as well. If you need more information or you would like to confirm your seat on the bus give Dana a call at 357-1770/783-2367 or email her at john.dana@xplornet.com.
