2007-11-11 Bulletin

We are God's Children—gathered by Him in love—to bring glory to the Triune God, to pray, to seek the lost, to nurture the young in the Lord, to care for the hurting, and to encourage one another.  We do this in obedience to His Word.

Next Sunday, November 18th

Pastor Mike will exchange in the morning with Pastor Art Verboom from the Maranatha CRC in Edmonton. In the evening we begin a study of the Law of God with “The First Permission.”

Discipleship Series

The series includes a devotional book with daily readings. There are a few left. If you did not get one ask Pastor Mike. It also includes discussion times. The last discussion for this series will be this Saturday evening from 7:30 – 9:00 p.m. We will go over the devotional readings and the sermons, answering any questions and encouraging each other as disciples of Christ. Everyone is welcome.

Kids Christmas Worship Service

The first rehearsal for the Kids Christmas Worship service drama and choir went well with lots of excitement and a keen interest. The next rehearsal will be held on Tuesday November 13th right afterschool till 4:45 p.m. (Sorry we ran a little late last week.) Thank you to the Branders and Hazelhofs for the snack that was enjoyed by all. Kids, please try to memorize your lines as quickly as possible so that we can spend more time on acting our parts. We are still looking for some young musicians to play preludes before this service. Also kids, you are reminded to get your Christmas artwork into Gaylene Tenbrinke's mail box by November 25th so she can prepare it for the power point. Remember, it should tell some part of the Christmas story and include your name on the back. Any questions or comments, call Harriet Luymes at 782-2572.

Prayer for the Persecuted Church

India

On November 2, Hindu militants disrupted a prayer service and beat and injured thirteen believers in the village of Timnar, Chhattisgarh. The militants stole jewelry, food and other possessions of the believers. Two days later, Hindu militants attacked several of the same believers again. Ask God to enable these Christians to respond to their persecutors with love and grace. Pray for healing for those injured and that the gospel will continue to go forth in India, despite threats and acts of violence against God's messengers (Acts 4:21-29).

Beef & Dairy Sale

For the Canadian Foodgrains Bank will be held on Saturday, November 17th at 12 noon at Vold, Jones & Vold Auction Mart in Ponoka. To fill out an enrollment sheet or a cash donation, you can meet with Arnie Tenbrinke at the Lacombe Boston Pizza on Friday November 16th from 12:30 – 1 p.m. and he will buy you lunch. If there are any questions please phone Arnie at 318-7503.
