Next Sunday, November 18thPastor Mike will exchange in the morning with Pastor Art Verboom from the Maranatha CRC in Edmonton. In the evening we begin a study of the Law of God with “The First Permission.” Discipleship SeriesThe series includes a devotional book with daily readings. There are a few left. If you did not get one ask Pastor Mike. It also includes discussion times. The last discussion for this series will be this Saturday evening from 7:30 – 9:00 p.m. We will go over the devotional readings and the sermons, answering any questions and encouraging each other as disciples of Christ. Everyone is welcome. Church SecretaryWe have not one but two secretaries! Dana van Gyssel and Cindy Prins will share this position. Office hours will be Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to 12 noon and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Bulletin announcements.Please send all announcements by fax, email or phone to the church. Written announcements must be signed and left in the secretary’s mail box in the foyer or the file in the secretary’s office. Booking Church Facilities:Please make sure that all requests are done through the secretary so no double bookings occur. Church FamilyThis week we will be praying as a church family for Arnie, Sherry and Travis Tenbrinke. Ruth Sluys is mostly home and may have visitors. Her heart repair surgery is scheduled to happen 3-5 weeks from now. Remember our shut-ins: Tena Ellen, Ann Swier, Margaret Bos, Theresa Salomons, and Jackie Hartenhof. Christmas cards for our missionariesMarja Vander Vlis will be in the Fellowship Hall today and next Sunday with Christmas cards for our missionaries. Jr. and Sr. Youth:You have been invited for an evening of games with the Wolf Creek Committee Church youth group. Times have not been set yet but please keep your eyes peeled in the bulletin next week. Dec 07/07 for Jr. & Sr. YouthThe WCCC youth have invited you to join them in attending an evening at the West Edmonton Mall Water Park. Sherwood Park Alliance Church is hosting this event from 7:30-1030p.m. The admission for the park will be a mere $8!!!! We are planning to take a bus, which will leave our parking lot at 5:30p.m. The cost for the ride will be $5-$10 (depending on the amount of students registered to go). Pack a supper, for we don’t plan on stopping or if you choose buy dinner at the park. No food will be allowed to enter the park. If you are interested to attend this event please book your seat with Dana as soon as possible to guarantee a seat. 357-1770/783-2367. Mexico Mission TripPlans are well underway for a mission trip to Mexico during Easter Break 2008. We have reserved 15 spots in Ensenada. Things are filling up fast at the YWAM bases because it is also Easter break in the United States. Once we have 15 committed people the team is complete. Please hand your commitment forms and deposits in as soon as possible to Gerry Prins. Our next meeting is on November 12th at 7:30 pm. Kids Christmas Worship ServiceThe first rehearsal for the Kids Christmas Worship service drama and choir went well with lots of excitement and a keen interest. The next rehearsal will be held on Tuesday November 13th right afterschool till 4:45 p.m. (Sorry we ran a little late last week.) Thank you to the Branders and Hazelhofs for the snack that was enjoyed by all. Kids, please try to memorize your lines as quickly as possible so that we can spend more time on acting our parts. We are still looking for some young musicians to play preludes before this service. Also kids, you are reminded to get your Christmas artwork into Gaylene Tenbrinke's mail box by November 25th so she can prepare it for the power point. Remember, it should tell some part of the Christmas story and include your name on the back. Any questions or comments, call Harriet Luymes at 782-2572. SINTERKLAAS BAZAAR-DUTCH LUCHEON:Please mark your calendars for another Sinterklaas Bazaar to be held on December 1st, 2007. Our fun filled day will start at 10 a.m. with games and contests for young & old. There will be a table with baked goodies, so you can stock up on your Christmas needs. Lunch will consist of Dutch items such as pea soup, Dutch meatball soup, croquettes, roggebrood, krentje brei, etc. All funds raised will be used for the Young People mission trip to Mexico. Come out for a day of fun and fellowship. NEEDED:We are looking for donations of new or slightly used small items, toys or gifts to use as prizes for the games at the Sinterklaas Bazaar. Prayer for the Persecuted ChurchIndiaOn November 2, Hindu militants disrupted a prayer service and beat and injured thirteen believers in the village of Timnar, Chhattisgarh. The militants stole jewelry, food and other possessions of the believers. Two days later, Hindu militants attacked several of the same believers again. Ask God to enable these Christians to respond to their persecutors with love and grace. Pray for healing for those injured and that the gospel will continue to go forth in India, despite threats and acts of violence against God's messengers (Acts 4:21-29). If there are any questions please phone Arnie at 318-7503. The Central Alberta Christian High School fall driveIs now underway until December 15th. This year’s goal is $140,000.00. If you have not received a donation form or you have lost your donation form, you may contact Ann Oudman, our school secretary, and request that she mail, fax or email you a copy of the donation form. During the evenings, you may also contact Jaap Domincus (783-6848) or Wendy Barnes (885-5187) and they will ensure that you receive a new form.
