We are God's Children - gathered by Him in love - to bring glory to the Triune God, to pray, to seek the lost, to nurture the young in the Lord, to care for the hurting, and to encourage one another. We do this in obedience to His Word.
The Offering todayIs for the Mexico Mission trip. The team will be building a home for a needy family and the offering will go towards the building material of that home. The cost of a house is $4,900 and we are in need of another $1,600; any excess money will be used to buy furniture or other items that the family is in need of. Before the offeringWe will be showing a short video from YWAM San Diego about all the houses they have built since 1988. The video shows the 2000th house built in August of 2006. So far they have built 2302 homes. Bethel Church, with God’s blessings, has helped with 11 of the homes. Downstairs (at the bottom of the stairs) are two large picture frames displaying information and pictures of all the 11 homes and their families. “Making A Difference, One Family At A Time” Next Sunday, February 24thWe celebrate the Lord’s Supper. We read together form Mark 14:12-26 where Jesus institutes the sacrament as an act of faith and remembrance of him. In the evening we focus on the family and receive permission from the Lord to make it a priority. Pastor Mike will lead the services. Our Church FamilyThis week will keep Bill & Eleanor Wildeboer and their family in our prayers. Thank-you for all the prayers and concern you have shown to us and for our baby, Austin, as he went for his tests regarding his heart. We're thankful that all is well, and that he will no longer need surgery. The Lord heard and answered all our prayers and we praise Him for that. Continue to keep Eleanor and Bill Wildeboer's grandson, Nathaniel, (15 month old son of Steve & Angela) in your prayers. He had a second surgery this past Tuesday and will start chemo therapy soon. Hecontinues to be in the Stollery Children’ hospital in Edmonton. If you wish you can go on the following website and receive further updates and express your support: www.carepages.com/stollery, register in, and put in NathanielSW. We seek God’s healing grace in Nathaniel’s life and strength for the parents and extended family. Jenny Bajema’s operation to remove the cancerous spot went well and she returned home again. We trust that the procedure was effective in God’s healing grace. Do remember our seniors in prayer during the difficult cold winter months as well as our shut ins: Tena Ellen, Ann Swier, Margaret Bos, Theresa Salomons, and Jackie Hartenhof. Remember our missionaries around the world. Prayer Time:Eleven people gathered in prayer last Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at the church. Room 8 works well as a prayer room. It was great to be strengthened and encouraged in prayer together. We prayed for personal, family, church family and broader concerns (missions, ministries, etc.). Anyone, young or old is welcome to join as we plan to keep meet every Tuesday. If you have a prayer request you can email it to the church or put it in Pastor Mike’s mailbox.
