2008-07-06 Bulletin

We are God's Children - gathered by Him in love - to bring glory to the Triune God, to pray, to seek the lost, to nurture the young in the Lord, to care for the hurting, and to encourage one another. We do this in obedience to His Word.

Next Sunday, July 13th

We read from 1 Thessalonians 5 and look at the question "How should we then live?" In the evening we conclude our study of the Lord’s Prayer and with it the Heidelberg catechism as it points us to "The power and glory of the Kingdom of God." Pastor Mike will lead the services.

Our Church Family

Our combined service last Sunday was blessed with a sunny morning and near record attendance. We are thankful for the encouragement of coming together in faith as God’s people and for the opportunity to worship together.

We remember Albert & Carol De Waal as Albert deals with various health concerns. May the peace and power of God be with you.

Do remember our seniors and shut ins in prayer: Tilly Biel, Lea Dykstra, Tena Ellen, Jackie Hartenhof, Theresa Salomons, Ruth Sluys, and Ann Swier.

Remember our missionaries around the world.

Church Secretaries

The church secretaries will be in the office on Tuesday morning and all day Friday this week.

BACK TO GOD MINISTRIES INTERNATIONAL:

The mission of The Back to God Hour is more far reaching than only a single North American radio program. And now, Synod 2008 has approved a new name, Back to God Ministries International, to communicate the international and multi-media scope of the ministry. Thank you for your continued support of worldwide media ministries as we remain committed to "Telling His Story...Sharing His Love." THE BATTLE OF JERICHO:

Does it ever feel like your entire life is a fight? That you’re constantly tempted in your weakness, or routinely find yourself defending what you believe in. You are just protecting yourself and your family, or even trying to make the world a better place. But why? Is there a greater purpose to this daily grind? Find out on the July 13 Back to God Hour. Go to www.BacktoGod.net for local stations and times.

Walking Toward Dawn

Have you taken the time to be blessed by the early morning beauty of a fresh July morning? The world seems almost perfect as the dawn breaks over our bountiful land and the birds joyfully greet a new day. The possibilities of a new day are overwhelming when you meet it in the splendor of the sunrise. Take time if you are able, to enjoy the beauty of creation and meet with the loving Creator and be refreshed and renewed!

"The path of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn." Proverbs 4:18

"Morninghas broken like the first morning, blackbird has spoken like the first bird. Praise for the singing! Praise for the morning! Praise for them, springing fresh from the Word!"

Excerpts taken from:

Joel Nederhood, This Splendid Journey & Eleanor Farjeon, Morning Has Broken
