2008-11-09 Bulletin

We are God's Children - gathered by Him in love - to bring glory to the Triune God, to pray, to seek the lost, to nurture the young in the Lord, to care for the hurting, and to encourage one another. We do this in obedience to His Word.

Next Sunday, November 16

We celebrate the Lord’s Supper together in the morning service. In the evening we turn to the Book of Judges and the temptation to do what is “right in our own eyes.” Pastor Mike will lead the services.

Our Church Family

Please keep Tony & Henny Middag in your daily prayers this week.

Persecuted Church

Iranian Christians, Mahmood Matin-Azad and Arash Basirat, who were acquitted on charges of apostasy on September 25th, have learned that their release was based on the false claim that they denied their Christian faith in court. The court claims that the men denied converting to Christianity from Islam. However, both men vehemently maintain that they openly professed their Christian faith throughout the trial. Although they have been exonerated of the charges, they fear they will be re-arrested once they resume their Christian activity or that believers who associate with them will also face pressure. Some believe that they were released to appease international pressure and that they might be punished outside of the law. Thank God for the release of Mahmood and Arash. Pray for their protection, and also for their families and relatives. Pray against the legislation going through Iranian parliament, that will make the death sentence mandatory for any man who leaves Islam and chooses another religion. Pray for MBB’s (Muslim Background Believers) in Iran that they may receive courage and power to openly witness about their faith. Pray that secret believers in Iran find and encourage each other
