Welcome to worship this Sunday at Bethel church. We look to Jesus our Savior. A special welcome to Pastor Evert Gritter from Red Deer, who will lead our service this morning. There is no service this evening. May God be praised in our worship today. Do stay for fellowship and refreshments after the service.

Our Church Family

Congratulations to Helena Kits as she celebrates her 75th birthday and to Jenny Bajema as she celebrates her 82nd birthday today. To both of you we wish you a wonderful day filled with the Lord’s richest blessings.

Ria Jager was in hospital for several days but we give thanks that she was able to return home again this week.

Ann Vander Wal is in hospital receiving tests as she is not feeling well. May God bless the work of the doctors in helping her.

We express our condolences to Carmen and Steve McKerrow and the Wiersma family with the death of Mrs. Swanie Wiersma Christmas day. The funeral was this past Wednesday. May God comfort those who sorrow in the wonder of his grace and love.

Do remember our seniors and shut ins in prayer: Tilly Biel, Lea Dykstra, Wigger Meindersma, and Theresa Salomons.

Remember our missionaries around the world.

Bethel News

Next Sunday, January 10th

We begin a series of sermons on the life and ministry of Jesus from the Gospel of John. We will read John 1:19-51 and “The call to follow Jesus.” We will also partake in the Lord’s Supper together. In the evening we will consider the 400 years between the end of the Old Testament and the New Testament. We will read from some of the Apocryphal books in light of Belgic Confession Article 6. Pastor Mike will lead our worship.

Children and Worship – There will be NO classes today.

Did you bring any baking over the holidays? Your containers are waiting for pick up either in the kitchen or in the lost and found box. This is located at the bottom of the stairs and to your right on the counter next to the elevator. Take a look, who knows, you might find something else that might be yours!

A reminder to the congregation that some people are sensitive to scents. We ask that all should refrain from using large amounts of perfume.

The Cadets

Will hold a bottle and battery drive on January 9th. If anyone has bottles or batteries you need cleaned up please let any Cadet counselor know and we will be happy to arrange for them to be picked up or if you are so inclined you may bring them to church and the cadets or counselors would be happy to assist you in unloading them. The Cadets appreciate your support of this worthwhile cause. Any questions call Grant Zuidhof at 403 782 4002.
