Our Church Family

Theresa Salomons and Ann Vander Wal remain in the hospital in Red Deer. We pray for God’s continued nearness for them both.

Harry Wildeboer was in an accident this past week and broke several ribs. We trust in God’s gracious care for him and the family during the time of healing.

Congratulations to Gerry Doornenbal as he celebrates his 82nd birthday today! May the Lord continue to bless you today and in the coming year.

Thank you to the congregation for the prayers, visits and cards while Herman was in the hospital. Herman & Alice Scholing

Do remember our seniors and shut ins in prayer: Tilly Biel, Lea Dykstra, Wigger Meindersma, Theresa Salomons and Herman Scholing Sr.

Remember our missionaries around the world.

Next Sunday, April 25th

Christian Education week

Is April 19th to April 23rd. This year’s theme is “Choices.” “How much better to get wisdom than gold, to choose understanding rather than silver!” Proverbs 16:16. Parents are the first and primary influencers and educators of their children. Christian schools desire to help in this most critical task of gaining the wisdom and understanding spoken about in Proverbs…through a curriculum that points toward the Creator…with teachers who teach that we are to love God above all, and to love others for who they are, dearly loved children of God. Look for more information on Christian Education week in your church mail boxes.

Bulletin Announcements

The church secretaries would like to remind the congregation that bulletin announcements can be emailed to the church at bchurch2@telus.net or hand written messages placed in the secretaries’ mailbox on the left and near the bottom of the first column of the mailboxes. Thank you!

Seniors Club

From the Deacons - Operation Manna:

The church across Canada serving its neighbors in love. On Sunday, May 2nd, we will join with churches across Canada to gather an offering for Operation Manna, a program of Diaconal Ministries Canada. To help you learn more about this program we will distribute a special brochure next Sunday that highlights how your gifts will be used this year to show love to people in need across Canada.

The Persecuted Church

A court hearing for Maryam Rustampoor and Marzieh Amirizadeh - Iranian Christians who were arrested by security forces in March 2009 -- was held on April 13th. In November 2009, the two were conditionally released from the notorious Evin Prison. Although they have been receiving medical treatment for the past five months, they remain weak and suffer from various illnesses. Yet, despite their frailties, they were determined to be faithful to the Lord and speak the truth in court whatever the consequence or personal cost. At last report, the outcome of their hearing was unknown. Pray that the peace of God will protect Maryam and Marzieh's hearts and minds and keep them safe. Pray that they will completely recover from their illnesses and be strong - physically, mentally and spiritually. Pray that all charges will be dropped and they will be set free.
