September Newsletter
The months
are flying by and now we are ready to get our September - Back to School
newsletter in your boxes. Please forward your contributions to any of the
newsletter team or place it in the newsletter mailbox in the foyer. We
look forward to this issue and we look at going back to school. Maybe you
have a story about going back to school in the old days. We love to have
the congregation share their stories with us. What a great way to get to
know each other - to encourage one another. We are hoping that each of
the ministries that start up in the fall will drop us a short note about their
plans for start up. Friendship, Gems, Cadets, Coffee Break etc. We would
really like to have a short note from each of you. Let us keep the
congregation informed so we can plan and pray together. Thanks so
much. We look forward to hearing from you. Laura Duckett, Harriet
Luymes, Ann Wildeboer, Anita Geldof
Men's Praise Team

The
Persecuted Church
Pakistan
Church leaders
are asking explicitly for prayer for Christians who are victims of the floods.
Thousands of Christians have become homeless and lost the little they
had. Christians are in the lowest sections of the population and they
experience daily discrimination, threats and violence. "Muslim landowners
and their relatives see Christian girls or women as their chattel; incidents are
not being stopped by the government, and day by day the rate of rapes of
Christian girls is escalating instead of plunging." With the added flood disaster
there is despair and fear for the future. There is no safe place for
Christians; shelters are situated in mosques
where Christians easily fall a prey to Taliban and other extremists. They
may be pressed to become Muslim. Pray for the
victims of the floods; pray especially for protection for Christians; pray that
they are not discriminated, but get also the help they need. Pray that
relief work will reach even the areas which are totally secluded from the
world. Pray for safety for the relief workers and that the aid arrives at the
right destinations.
