Our Church Family

Please remember our church family in your daily prayers at mealtimes and during your personal devotions. Continue to remember those young and old with ongoing physical, spiritual, and emotional struggles.

We remember in prayer those with medical concerns: Ray Merkus, Henry Geldof, Albert Biel. May God continue to be near in his grace.

Thank you for your prayers, cards, visits and food after Eleanor's knee surgery. We praise and thank the Lord for a continuing good recovery. Eleanor and Bill Wildeboer

Do remember our seniors and shut ins in prayer: Tony & Henny Middag, Ann Vander Wal,

Tilly Biel and Lea Dykstra

Remember our missionaries around the world.

Bethel Safe Church Policy:

TODAY is the start of a month long campaign to start the process of a mass sign up for a police checks. You will be filling out a Lacombe Police Service Criminal Record Check form and leaving a copy of your driver’s license or any piece of photo id. Your Safe Church Volunteer Profile form should be dropped off at the same time, it was given to you in advance to fill out a couple of weeks ago. I will be set up downstairs in the council and photo copy rooms for the whole month of June. Anyone involved with Council, Ministry Leadership Teams, Nursery, Youth leaders, GEMS, Cadets, Sunday School/Children in Worship, Coffee Break/Story Hour and Nursery, Friendship, Ushers and Hall Monitors and Circle of Friends are required to go through this process so that we as a church are covered in our insurance policies. All information will be compiled here at the church and when everyone has submitted all forms, I will then take all required paper work to the police station for processing. If you have any questions about the process or the forms please contact me. Dana van Gyssel

Reminder from the Deacons:

There are two weeks left to fill your baby bottles with change for the Pregnancy Care Centre. Please bring your filled bottles on Fathers’ Day, Sunday, June 19th.

From the Outreach Ministry Leadership Team:

We are planning a community garage sale here on the church parking lot on Saturday, June 11th from 9-2. Families living around the church will be invited to take part. We will set up tables for them to use. In this way we can get to know our neighbors and connect with the families around us. Church members are also welcome to bring items they might want to sell. We will be advertising in the paper and the community. The youth will be assisting by selling snacks and lunch as a fund raiser for their Mexico Mission work. We are looking forward to an exciting day. Questions contact Liz Stad 403-782-3444.

Garage sale

If any members of the church wish to donate items for the missions team, please drop it off at Liz Stad’s house (5722-53 Avenue - around to the back deck) before Friday noon. Please, no clothing and only gently used items. Thank you.

The Persecuted Church

Tajikistan's Parliament

May adopt a restrictive Parental Responsibility Law, drafts of which ban children from attending religious activities apart from funerals. The latest text of the proposed law has not been made public, even though it is being discussed in parliamentary committees. It may be adopted by July, even though drafts of the law, which was initiated by President Emomali Rahmon, break the Constitution and international human rights standards. Local religious communities, independent legal experts and human rights defenders have condemned the draft, but Deputy Marhabo Jabborova, chair of a parliamentary committee leading discussions, told that he "is not aware of any comments from religious communities." Pray God will enable Christian parents to demonstrate an unwavering commitment to Christ so that their children will be encouraged to walk closely with the Lord as they grow up (Deuteronomy 11:18-20, 2 Timothy 1:5). Pray the people of Tajikistan will be granted religious freedom.
