Our Church Family

Please remember our church family in your daily prayers at mealtimes and during your personal devotions. Continue to remember those young and old with ongoing physical, spiritual, and emotional struggles.

Do remember our seniors and shut ins in prayer: Tony & Henny Middag, Ann Vander Wal, Tilly Biel and Lea Dykstra.

Remember our missionaries around the world.

From the Treasurer:

It’s budget request time again! All Ministry Leadership Teams are asked to go over your budgets and have your numbers ready to be submitted to August Luymes by October 3, 2011. If you have any questions please contact August.

Office Bearer Nomination:

With one vacant Elder position (Peter Rosendal), Council reflected back on our spring nomination process and again approached those who had been supported by the congregation to see if they were able to let their names stand at this time. Two responded favorably so at this time Council presents to the congregation the names of Art Hazelhoff and Gerald Noort for the position of Elder. Since we actually need two elders both names are presented for affirmation by the congregation. The vote will be October 9th. The installation would take place October 16th. If you have any questions do not hesitate to contact Chairman John de Regt or Clerk Donald Wildeboer.

From the Pastoral Evaluation Team (PET)

We are beginning the process of conducting an evaluation of Pastor Mike and the Council of Bethel through a program developed by Pastor Walt Brouwer. Pastor Walt is a consultant for Classis Alberta North in Pastor-Church Relations and has developed a manual that strives to achieve mutual accountability through transparency. Over the next few weeks, some members of our congregation (about 10%) will be contacted with an evaluation form including two or three open-ended questions in order to provide feedback to Pastor Mike and Council on their ministry. The goal is "...speaking the truth in love..." (Eph 4:15) through transparency, honesty, and grace (love), and will therefore be asking the participants to sign their names to the evaluations. If you have any questions, please contact August Luymes,

Sue Wildeboer or Jan Zuidhof, PET.

Bethel Safe Church News:

Over the course of the summer I compiled a number of applications for those volunteers who do ministry here in Bethel. I realized I never really said thank you for your time and effort, so THANK YOU! Know that the process was a success and your paperwork has returned. There are a few that did sign out forms but were not processed due to missing information, and then there are those who have to go one step further to complete the process. Your forms will be handed in when I personally get a hold of you to complete the forms. But there are still 49 people out there that are still unaccounted for. I will be dropping in on your ministry nights to sign you up. Leaders of these ministries I will be contacting you in the coming week to make arrangements with you to find out what times are appropriate to stop in. Dana van Gyssel

Let’s Make Room Together!

Rehoboth’s Board of Directors has designated September as Membership Campaign Month. Annual Association Membership Fees of ten dollars are renewable in September, plus donations of any amount are needed and greatly appreciated. Your $10 membership fee, per person, and supporting donations insures the continuation of quality services provided in the Lord’s name. Again this year, we are encouraging each person in a family to become a member. Children under the legal age of 18 will be non-voting members. A strong membership base is a great benefit to Rehoboth when negotiating funding for the services we provide. Our new contact persons for Bethel are Arnie & Sherry Tenbrinke. Please put your membership contributions in their mailbox or send your donation to Rehoboth Christian Ministries, 3920-49 Ave, Stony Plain, AB, T7Z 2J7.
