The Second Sunday of Advent

Our Church Family

Please remember our church family in your daily prayers at mealtimes and during your personal devotions. Continue to remember those young and old with ongoing physical, spiritual, and emotional struggles.

Do remember our seniors and shut ins in prayer: Tony & Henny Middag, Ann Vander Wal, Tilly Biel and Lea Dykstra.

Remember our missionaries around the world.

Bethel News

Guess Who is Coming for Coffee:

Just a reminder for those who would like to take part in this interesting fellowship idea. We have a sign up sheet on the table in the foyer. So far we have 24 families signed up. This is a program where a coffee evening is planned. One couple is host while two others come for coffee. The surprise is that you do not know who is coming. It is a great way to get to know some new people in our church family or to perhaps connect with some that you have lost touch with. We have heard a few concerns from those who are not so keen on driving at night. Please, do not let this stop you. In our planning, these concerns will definitely be looked after. Please talk to Pauline Bos or Anita Geldof if you have any concerns or questions. We hope to start the program in January. If you want to sign up yet, it is not too late.

Community Christmas Dinner:

Bethel is once again hosting the Lacombe community dinner on Christmas Day which will be held at the LMC. We are looking for a number of volunteers on Christmas Day for food preparation, greeting, serving, musical entertainment and clean-up. If you are able to help out with any number of these positions, please phone Jeanne Ebens at 403-782-7872. If you would like to donate to the dinner, please talk to Jen Zuidhof at 403-782-6672.

New Bible Study!

There will be a new Bible study starting on Monday, December 5th at Brad & Erin Lewin’s home, 4930 College Avenue, Lacombe, at 7:30 p.m. We will be looking at the book of Philippians and meeting the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month. All are welcome.

A Council Christmas Social

is planned for Wednesday, December 7th at 6:30 p.m. at the church. We will enjoy some good food and good fellowship. Everyone is asked to bring a wedding picture or album to share with the group.

Ladies Craft Day:

This Saturday we will once again have a craft day for all who are interested in getting together to get some crafting done as well as some great fellowship. For this month, please phone Anita Geldof by Thursday evening (December 8th) if you are planning to attend. This way we can plan properly for lunch. Also, for this month only, we will be meeting downstairs in the council room. Hope to see lots of you there. It is always a wonderful day. We meet from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Come for a few hours or the whole day.
