Our Church Family

Please remember our church family in your daily prayers at mealtimes and during your personal devotions. Continue to remember those young and old with ongoing physical, spiritual, and emotional struggles.

On Thursday, December 22nd Jan and Jolyn Rodenburg were blessed with a baby, a son, Grayson Mark. Parents and child are doing well and we give thanks to God for his precious gift of new life.

Congratulations to Jenny Bajema and Helena Kits with the celebration of their birthdays this coming Tuesday, January 3rd. Jenny will celebrate 84 years and Helena, 77. May God be with you both on your special day.

Do remember our seniors and shut ins in prayer: Tony & Henny Middag, Ann Vander Wal,

Tilly Biel and Lea Dykstra.

Remember our missionaries around the world.

Bethel News

No Children and Worship

There will be no Children and Worship for grades 1 and 2 today. We will begin again next week, January 8th.

Thank you from a member of the Lacombe community:

My family and I attended the community Christmas dinner today given by members of your congregation and we had a wonderful time. I would like to thank them for all their work and also for giving up their time to prepare and serve the meal. Our grandchildren were with us and they thought the dinner was a wonderful idea. Please pass along our appreciation to all those involved. Health and happiness in the new year.

Bottles and Battery Drive:

Once again the Cadets will be collecting bottles and batteries in early January. Please save them, or if you would like us to pick them up, give Grant Zuidhof a call at 403-782-4002. Thank you for your support.

The King’s University College

Is pleased to announce that Dr. John Orkar will be a scholar in residence here at King’s in the winter semester beginning in January. John has recently retired from a long and distinguished career with the CRWRC in Nigeria. John will teach and do research in the Micah Centre and will offer a course in the history program as well. Since Professor Orkar has a PhD in Studies in African History he has agreed to teach a special course: Topics in African History. This course will be offered Tuesday evenings at 6:30 beginning January 10, 2012 and will run for 13 weeks. Because of the unique nature of this course and instructor we are making this course available to non-student members of the general public at no cost. You can attend as many or as few lectures as you desire. There is no need to register as a student. We simply ask that you notify roy.berkenbosch@kingsu.ca of your intentions to attend. Those who wish to attend may consider making a donation to the Micah Centre.
