THANK YOU from the Youth Mexico Mission Team!

What an amazing evening we had last week Friday! A Country Affair was such a great success that we raised $6,800 towards our Mexico mission trip. We hope you folks all had a great time! We sure did! Thanks to all who donated towards the auction, those who donated food and hats off to the servers & cooks! Your continued support of the Youth Mexico Mission Trip is so greatly appreciated! Thank you again!

Is now available. We do order copies for church use, but if you would like to order a copy for yourself at a cost of $10 to $15, please contact the church secretaries at 403-782-6400 or bchurch2@telus.net before February 26th.

Nomination of Office bearers:

Once again it is time to consider Council nominations. This year we have two elders (John deRegt, Henry Eisses) and two deacons (Scott Fraser, Darran Vreugdenhil) completing their terms. Who is eligible for nomination? All office bearers are given a minimum two year break between terms of service. Those who are therefore ineligible are: Gord Bos, Curt Dowling, Ray Merkus, Ken Tenbrinke and Frank van Iperen. Women are eligible for the position of deacon. You do not need to speak with each person you nominate and you can nominate as many people as you feel are qualified. The district elders will officially approach people with 5 or more nominations.

The present Council members are: Wayne Bowman, Bindert de Jong, John de Regt, Wilf Ebens, Henry Eisses, Scott Fraser, Art Hazelhoff, August Luymes, Bryan Noordhof, Gerald Noort, Paul Prins, Andrew Tenbrinke, Terry Vandenborn, Craig Van Stryland, Rod Venhuis, Darran Vreugdenhil, Donald Wildeboer and Rick Wildeboer.

An actual nomination form will be given to you on Sunday, March 4th (during the offering) and collected as you leave the sanctuary. At that time you fill in the names of those you feel are gifted to serve. Those who cannot be present on March 4th can make other arrangements to submit their nominations. If you have questions please contact John de Regt. In the weeks preceding the nomination we seek the Lord for his guidance in this process. Council deeply appreciates your prayerful consideration on this matter.

The Profession of Faith

Class will meet Tuesdays at 6:50 p.m. at the church.

Bethel Newsletter

The month of February is half over already so the newsletter team is getting ready for the next issue. In March, we hope to have some articles and items that our Seniors will especially enjoy. If you have any contributions you would like to include, please do not hesitate to let any one of the team members know. We love to get stories, poems, artwork, interesting items that you find. All are welcome. We do try to pay attention to copyright issues, so we cannot just photocopy articles from other magazines. Small items less than 50 words are usually okay. Thanks so much for helping us to make newsletters that are interesting and informative. If you have any questions, just talk to Ann Wildeboer - awildeboer@xplornet.com, Harriet Luymes - haraug@gmail.com, or Anita Geldof – ahgeldof@shaw.ca

On Friday and Saturday, March 9th & 10th, interested young adults are invited from across Northern Alberta to look at what it means, and what its like to be a young adult within church. Two of the commissioned members are being jointly hosted by King's University College and Classis Alberta North to hear from YOU (and one of these members runs the largest Young Adult-populated church in the CRC located in Austin Texas). If you are interested, contact Wayne Bouwman, Pastor Mike or Dana van Gyssel.

Young Adults’ Hiking Trip: The Chilkoot Trail.

Interested in a multi-day hike with a little history of the Gold Rush? The Chilkoot Trail is isolated, strenuous and physically challenging. The trail is also extremely rewarding, providing hikers with spectacular scenery with a unique historical setting. This trip is a five-day hiking trip plus travel (located near Whitehorse). Dates for this hiking trip will be determined by those in attendance but will be during the summer months. Plans need to be made soon, so please, contact Ken Vis at covcrcedpastor@uniserve.com if you are interested.
