Our Church Family

Please remember our church family in your daily prayers at mealtimes and during your personal devotions. Continue to remember those young and old with ongoing physical, spiritual, and emotional struggles.

Congratulations to Tilley Biel as she celebrates her 79th birthday on Monday. To Gerrit Meindersma as he celebrates his 89th on Saturday. To both of you, may our Lord continue to bless you richly in the coming new year!

The Mexico Mission team returned home on Friday from Ensenada. We are thankful for the opportunity to serve in this way and for God’s granting traveling mercies and his blessing.

Our office bearer election process continues to work itself out as letters have been given to those who were nominated by the congregation.

The congregational meeting was a good opportunity to learn more about the youth ministry initiative called “D6” based on Deuteronomy 6 as it outlines a Fuller Family type ministry vision.

Do remember our seniors and shut ins in prayer: Tony & Henny Middag, Albert & Tilly Biel,

Ann Vander Wal and Lea Dykstra.

Remember our missionaries around the world.

Local Serve Opportunity

Our “Circle of Friends (COF)” ministry is in need of a few people to step forward. OMLT is looking for people to continue this important ministry. COF presently serves between 35-60 people every Thursday evening here in our church. It is a diverse group: some seniors from the community and our church, some young families, single moms with kids and others. It is a wonderful ministry showing the love of Jesus and it is much appreciated by those who come. We need people who enjoy cooking as well as enjoy meeting and serving the people who come. If you feel you could help out let Darran Vreugdenhil, Melanie, Biel, or Angela DeRegt know.

Persecuted Church

Three Christian men were arrested in a city café on March 1 in Morocco. During the arrest, police apparently gained information about other secret believers in the country. The arrest involved two young men who were meeting with an older believer from another city. While the two young men were released later that night, the older believer remains in custody. The families of the two young men did not know the men were following Christ. One of them was no longer welcome in his home once his beliefs were discovered. Many foreign Christians were expelled from Morocco two years ago, and this had a significant impact on the Church as anti-Christian sentiment seems to be growing in the country. Moroccan believers now meet in small groups for fear of persecution. While becoming a Christian in Morocco is not actually illegal, it is forbidden to share the gospel with non-Christians. Please pray that Moroccan Christians will continue to gather despite the threats of reprisals. Pray that the believer in prison will remain strong in his faith and will be freed. Pray that Moroccan Christians' passion for Christ will be the light that draws others to Jesus (Matthew 5:14-16).
