Our Church Family

Please remember our church family in your daily prayers at mealtimes and during your personal devotions. Continue to remember those young and old with ongoing physical, spiritual, and emotional struggles.

The planter at the front of the sanctuary is in honor of Gerry & Pita Doornenbal’s 60th wedding anniversary which was celebrated this past week. The cake served with coffee after the morning service today is in celebration of this milestone!

Congratulations to Hilda Van Stryland who celebrated her birthday last Sunday and to Albert Biel and Peter Sluys as they celebrate their birthdays on Thursday. To all of you we wish the Lord’s richest blessings.

Do remember our seniors and shut ins in prayer: Albert & Tilly Biel, Lea Dykstra, Tony & Henny Middag, Lena Spelt, Grace Vander Veen and Ann Vander Wal.

Remember our missionaries around the world. Please remember

New Church telephone directory!

The secretaries will be updating our church directory in the near future. On Sunday, May 27th you will find a directory page in your church mailbox with the information that we currently have for you. Please do not take these pages home! We ask you to check your information and if it is correct, place the page in the secretaries’ mailbox (lower left corner) or give it to Cindy or Dana (we will be on hand in the foyer after the morning service that day.) If changes need to be made to your current information, please note them on the back of the page and then hand it in. If you will not be here on May 27th we will keep your page and contact you to update your information. Thank you from the church secretaries.

Summer Pre-School Sunday school Teachers Needed

We are looking for volunteer teachers and helpers for a summer program for the younger children during the morning service during June, July and August. The material is all laid out and will be available to be picked up ahead of time. We ask that each parent of pre-school aged children volunteer to teach one week this summer in order for this program to run. A sign up sheet is located on the table in the back foyer, so please volunteer to help out for a week. If no one signs up for a week, Pre-School Sunday school will be cancelled that week.

Macbeth Off Kilter

The Central Alberta Christian High School Drama 20/30 class invites you to their year-end production of Macbeth Off Kilter. Who says Shakespeare's darkest tragedy can't give you belly laughs? Scotty Macbeth is a high school senior with everything going for him, including a giant ego and a penchant for plaid. When some goth classmates - the weird sisters - convince him that he, not his friend Duncan Morto, should be class president, his ambition leads him down a dark and absurd path of deception and expulsion. (No murder, of course. It's a comedy, after all!) Macbeth's plan is foiled when a hilarious cast of school faculty (including the goofy custodian, Willie, his love interest Nurse Doris and Oprah, the unstable psychologist) team up with a couple of angry expelled "ghosts" and start investigating the troublesome events at Highland High. Macbeth's cheerleader girlfriend and co-conspirator, Sadie MacNutt, cleans her way to total madness as her own guilt finally exposes their evil plot. Complete with witty word play, slapstick action and a shocking twist ending. So, come join us on June 5th, 6th or 7th for an evening of laughs. The doors open at 7 p.m. and the play begins at 7:30 p.m. each night. Tickets are only $10. Give Ann a call at the school at 403-782-4535 to purchase your ticket and reserve your seat soon! We look forward to seeing you there!

Persecuted Church

Hmong believers in Vietnam are facing opposition from village authorities because of their faith in Christ. Three families were expelled from their village in northern Vietnam, because of their recent adoption of Christianity. Each family came to faith after a Hmong Christian worker prayed for an ill family member and the family member recovered from illness. The families, which include a total of 13 people, must find a new place to live because officials will not allow Christians in their village. Likewise, also in northern Vietnam, a Hmong family was compelled to leave their village because village leaders opposed their Christian faith. One family member was very ill, but she recovered after moving to a Christian village and receiving prayer. Praise God for His work among the Hmong people and for using them as His witnesses. Pray for these families who have lost everything to follow Christ. Ask the Lord to supply all their needs. Pray that they will grow stronger in their faith, and that their testimony will encourage others to know Jesus.
