Our Church Family

Please remember our church family in your daily prayers at mealtimes and during your personal devotions. Continue to remember those young and old with ongoing physical, spiritual, and emotional struggles.

Mrs. Alice Scholing stumbled and fell while on the trip with the seniors this past Wednesday and she broke her hip. The doctors operated to stabilize the bone and now she is recovering.

We pray for healing and patience in the weeks ahead as she recovers her strength.

We want to remember Carina Tenbrinke grandfather Wayne Green who had a heart attack this past Monday. He is in hospital in Edmonton and is very weak. May our gracious God be near to him and his wife Grace and the family in this time of uncertainty

Do remember our seniors and shut ins in prayer: Albert & Tilly Biel, Lea Dykstra, Tony & Henny Middag, Lena Spelt, Grace Vander Veen and Ann Vander Wal.

Remember our missionaries around the world.

Red Deer and District Pro-Life News:

We wish to thank those who have renewed their memberships and generously donated to assist in courageously protecting LIFE. Please consider renewing or taking out a new membership. Please continue to PRAY and take ACTION today!

See www.letters4life.ca for sample letters. This is a campaign to write 100,000 letters to our Prime Minister to speak out against abortion ASAP, by early June when MP Stephen Woodworth brings forth Motion 312 which is asking Parliament to study Canada’s 400 year old definition of a human being. This says children are not human beings until the moment of complete birth. It is urgent that we all write or email our Prime Minister and your MP. Postage is free.

The Right Honorable Stephen Harper
Prime Minister of Canada
80 Wellington St., Ottawa, ON L1A 0A2
Or email pm@pm.gc.ca

Please also PRAY for the “Canadian Centre for Bioethical Reform” youth who are travelling across Canada this month, making the public aware of the victims of Canada’s law which allows children to be aborted until birth. See http://www.lifesitenews.com/news/canadian-pro-life-group-launches-cross-country-abortion-caravan for details.

Persecuted Church

Laos

An 18-year-old son and 20-year-old daughter have been expelled from their home because of their Christian faith. When their mother became extremely ill, village elders claimed that the spirits were displeased because the two Christian children were living in the house. An older son tried to persuade his brother and sister to recant their faith, but they refused. Their mother then accused them of hating their older brother and wishing him dead. She threw their belongings out of the house and told them to leave. The two siblings immediately moved to a Christian village where they originally heard the gospel, where they were welcomed with open arms. Pray for these two brave Christians as they begin a new life away from their family. Pray that they will rest in the knowledge that the Good Shepherd walks with them through this difficult time (Psalm 23). Pray that their family members will come to know Jesus Christ and that the family will reconcile.
