Our Church Family

Please remember our church family in your daily prayers at mealtimes and during your personal devotions. Continue to remember those young and old with ongoing physical, spiritual, and emotional struggles.

Thank you for your prayers and visits throughout Doreen’s health issues. God is in control.

We also want to thank you for your prayers, cards, flowers, and visits as we celebrated our 50th anniversary this past week. Please join us in the fellowship hall after this morning service for cake. Clarence and Doreen Kits

Remember our missionaries around the world.

Bethel News

Today Is World Hunger Sunday

Thank you for having a Heart for the World by sharing your blessings with others. Today we celebrate God’s faithfulness over 50 years of ministry by World Renew/CRWRC. We also extend the celebration by sharing our gifts and enabling World Renew to reach out to others in need around the world. If you want to know more about world hunger or what World Renew is doing to help, or if you want to find out ways that you can volunteer or get involved, please visit worldrenew.net

Next Sunday, November 11th as Remembrance Day

Falls on Sunday we will have our time of silent reflection at 11:00 in our service. The reality of war informs our theme from Ephesians 6:10-18 where it describes the church as “The Army of God” at war against Satan and the forces of darkness. In the evening we turn to Romans 5:1-11 and the comfort of our “Union with Christ.” Pastor Mike will lead our worship.

HELP! HELP!

The nursery for Coffee Break on Wednesday mornings is in need of a person to help the two ladies who faithfully take care of the young children each week. They know the ropes but they need a third person. If you could help every other week a schedule could be worked out. Please let Barb Vandyk know if you are able to lend a hand. THANK YOU.

Movie Night:

The Fellowship MLT is hosting a Movie Night on Friday, November 16th. The movie “Courageous” will be shown at 7:00 p.m. For the kids, we will be playing “How to Train Your Dragon”. Popcorn and other snacks will be provided.

Community Christmas Dinner – Volunteers,

Bethel is once again hosting the Community Christmas Dinner on Christmas Day through the Outreach Ministry leadership Team. This year it will be held in the North Hall at the Lacombe Memorial Centre. We are looking for volunteers for food preparation on Christmas Eve Day from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm. We will need volunteers all day on Christmas Day for a variety of tasks. Would you be willing to be in charge of the food heating and preparation that day? How about leading the singing of Christmas carols? Could you open with Christmas devotions and prayer? Please phone Cora Hoekstra at 403-782-5107 if you would be willing to help.

Persecuted Church

Nigeria

A suicide bomber forced his way into a Church in Kaduna City on October 28th, detonating an explosion that killed at least seven worshippers and left dozens with severe injuries. According to eyewitnesses, after being denied entrance to the church grounds at the gate, the bomber reversed his vehicle and rammed into the church's perimeter wall, destroying the area reserved for the church's choir. The force of the explosion also caused severe structural damage to several nearby homes and buildings. Please pray for the grieving and the injured. Ask the Lord to bless the efforts of President Goodluck Jonathan and all those in authority who are seeking to bring an end to the violence. Pray the Lord will give Nigerian Christians the desire and the ability to forgive their attackers and respond with love.
