World Renew (CRWRC) Gift catalog:

If you are looking for a special & meaningful gift for someone this Christmas time, you may find what you are looking for in the World Renew gift catalog. These yellow catalogs were in your mailboxes a few weeks ago or you can find some copies on the table in the foyer. All the gifts help local people in poorer countries to develop local solutions to local problems – they can give hope to an entire community! There are animal gifts from many different countries and household gifts like stoves, chimneys & water purifiers. Books, medicine, food, bikes, beehives & training help to make a big impact for needy families. Please take the time to look at the catalog and give others the gift of hope.

Treasure Seekers

Are currently looking for some young helpers to assist the teachers with their programs every Sunday. If you are interested in helping out please contact Ann Wildeboer.

On Sunday, December 23rd

the Treasure Seeker classes will be wrapping Christmas presents for the community Christmas dinner. We invite you to participate in this wonderful project by donating small gift items and/or supplies for wrapping. Please give your items to Ann Wildeboer or if you have any questions or concerns you may contact her at 403-782-2061. Thank you for joining us in this community gift giving.

Cadets

It is a western theme, so dress western. It will start at 7 p.m. and go until 9 p.m. at the Lacombe Christian School gym. Bring a snack to share. Remember to start collecting bottles & batteries for our fundraiser in early January.

Lacombe Community Christmas Dinner:

The Outreach MLT is thankful for the volunteers who have come forward to help with the Christmas dinner. We have people for food preparation, servers, musicians, dish washers, and enough baking for the coffee time before the dinner. What we do still need are a few more people for food preparation on December 24th and a variety of desserts. If you are willing to help or prepare a dessert, please call Cora Hoekstra at 403-782-5107.

Persecuted Church

Egypt

A 14 year old girl has been kidnapped and reportedly forced to marry her Muslim captor. Sarah Abdelmaleks was last seen entering a paper shop near her school in September. A school friend of Sarah says the 27 year old paper shop owner had been pursuing Sarah. About a month after she was reported missing, a Salafist organization issued a statement saying that Sarah converted to Islam freely and married a Muslim man. Even if Sarah wanted to marry voluntarily, under Egyptian law, she would have to wait until she turned 18. At least 24 girls have been kidnapped recently, ranging in age from 14 to 21 years old. Please pray for strength on behalf of Sarah's family . Also remember Sarah, asking for the Lord to protect her spiritually, emotionally and physically; may she remain steadfast in her faith and eventually find her way safely back to her family. Let's stand in agreement together that such incidences of kidnapping and forced marriages would entirely cease.
