OUR CHURCH FAMILY

Please remember our church family in your daily prayers at mealtimes and during your personal devotions. Continue to remember those young and old with ongoing physical, spiritual, and emotional struggles.

Our family of the week is Andrew & Carina Tenbrinke. Please keep them and their children Jayde and Tessa in your daily prayers.

We would like to thank you for your thoughts, prayers, meals, calls, texts and hugs during the recent loss of our Dad and Grandpa. Having our extended church family pray for us has given us strength and encouragement that was so needed last week. Please continue to pray for Terry’s Mom, Sophie as she is still very weak from chemo treatments and a recent hip replacement.

Terry, Donna, Brett, Erin & Riley Vandenborn

Albert Biel moved to the Royal Oak Manor this week into Room #286A, just down the hall from Tilly. We now have several members residing at Royal Oak thanks to its recent expansion. We give thanks that a caring facility is available for our seniors.

Congratulations to Tony Middag and Ernie Stebner with the celebration of their birthdays today. May you be blessed on your special day as you celebrate with family and friends.

This coming week we have two weddings in our church!

Stephanie Hoekstra and Joe Thalen plan to be wed this coming Friday, July 12th at 3:30 p.m. They invite the congregation to join in the celebration of their marriage.

Melanie Wierda and Grant Zuidhof would like to invite the congregation to witness their wedding ceremony D.V. on Saturday, July 13th at 2:00 p.m.

Remember our missionaries around the world.

Go, My Children, with My Blessing

We will be having our annual picnic at the Lacombe Christian School field following the morning worship service. Coffee, juice and burgers will be provided. Please bring a salad and/or dessert to share and a lawn chair. Games for all ages! We will also have a time of worship together in the afternoon. We will not have a 7:00 p.m. worship service today. If the weather is not so nice we will have our lunch in the church. For more information please contact a Fellowship Ministry Leadership team member.

Next Sunday, July 14th

We see that even the most faithful can fall as David is caught in sin with Bathsheba and he suffers the consequences. In the evening we read from Proverbs 21 as it instructs us in the “Wise handling of money.” Pastor Mike will lead our worship.

This year for the Lacombe Days Combined Service in the Park,

our church’s contribution is going to be a DRIME presentation. We are looking for a team of young volunteers who would like to share a powerful message through DRIME. Anybody who is interested is encouraged to talk to Evan Scholing after the morning service today!

A Council Social

will be held on Tuesday, July 9th from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. at Andrew and Carina Tenbrinke’s home (for current and outgoing council members and their spouses.) Everyone is asked to bring lawn chairs. Elders please bring salads. Deacons please bring desserts. The meat, plates, cutlery and beverages will be provided.

Vacation Bible School

Another season of Vacation Bible School is quickly approaching! This year our theme will be SONWEST ROUNDUP where kids will get to know Jesus as they ride the trail through the Old Testament stories of Moses. We are looking for volunteers. We are planning to run the VBS from August 6-9 (Tuesday-Friday). If you are willing and able to share your gifts, talents and time this week we are still in need of a couple teachers to teach the preschool-kindergarten age group as well as the grade 1-2 age group. We are also in need of helpers, babysitters, decorators and somebody to coordinate the crafts. There are signup sheets on the table in the foyer that can be returned to the Summer Ministry Coordinator mailbox. Please prayerfully consider helping out with VBS this year- we would love to see this program continue in our church! Thank you and we look forward to another great week of VBS!
