OUR CHURCH FAMILY

Please remember our church family in your daily prayers at mealtimes and during your personal devotions. Continue to remember those young and old with ongoing physical, spiritual, and emotional struggles.

Congratulations to Stephanie & Joe Thalen who were married this past Friday and to Grant & Melanie Zuidhof with their wedding yesterday. May God bless all of you as you start your new lives together!

Our family of the week is Harry & Hilda Van Stryland. Please keep them in your daily prayers.

Pastor Mike and Barb are driving to Ontario for his mother’s 85th birthday on July 20th. They will be away for two weeks. In case of special needs please contact one of the elders.

Albert Biel moved to the Royal Oak Manor this week into Room #286A, just down the hall from Tilly. We now have several members residing at Royal Oak thanks to its recent expansion. We give thanks that a caring facility is available for our seniors.

Congratulations to Jacob Prins with the celebration of his birthday on July 18th. May God bless you with a special day and be with you in the year to come.

We would like to thank our Church family for the wonderful outpouring of love shown us for our 25th anniversary. The plant certainly brightens up our deck as do the chairs and loungers. We will make good use of them on future camping trips. Wayne & Jackie Bouwman

Remember our missionaries around the world.

Another season of Vacation Bible School

is quickly approaching! This year our theme will be SONWEST ROUNDUP where kids will get to know Jesus as they ride the trail through the Old Testament stories of Moses. We are looking for volunteers. We are planning to run the VBS from August 6-9 (Tuesday-Friday). If you are willing and able to share your gifts, talents and time this week we are still in need of a couple teachers to teach the preschool-kindergarten age group as well as the grade 1-2 age group. We are also in need of helpers, babysitters, decorators and somebody to coordinate the crafts. There are signup sheets on the table in the foyer that can be returned to the Summer Ministry Coordinator mailbox. Please prayerfully consider helping out with VBS this year- we would love to see this program continue in our church! Thank you and we look forward to another great week of VBS!

PURSECUTED CHURCH

HONDURAS:

Eight pastors have been murdered in Honduras in 2013 alone. In the most recent attack, which took place on June 19th, Pastor Eduardo Mejia was stabbed to death. The other seven pastors killed over the first half of this year have all died from gunshot wounds. To date, none of the cases involving the murdered pastors has been solved. While we know these servants of the Living God will be the recipients of His promised eternal reward for their faithfulness in ministry service, let us pray that this truth and the reassuring presence of Jesus will greatly comfort the hearts of their grieving loved ones and congregation members. According to Psalm 34:18, "The Lord is close to the broken hearted...." We are also mindful of our need to pray for the salvation of the perpetrators who are serving the enemy as 'workers of iniquity' by taking these pastors' lives. May they one day be able to personally experience God's mercy, forgiveness of sin, and His greatest gift of grace which is salvation.
