Next Sunday, November 10th we welcome the Soul Patrol Children’s choir as they lead us in song. It is also Chaplaincy Sunday so our University of Alberta Campus Chaplain, Rick Van Manen will bring the message. In the afternoon Pastor Rick Abma from Woodynook CRC will lead us in worship.

Pastor Mike is on holidays for two weeks and is helping in Ensenada Mexico with the Fuente de Vida church.

Operation Christmas Child: 

It’s that time of year again! The Samaritan’s Purse has Christmas child gift boxes ready to be filled for young boys and girls overseas. If you would like to participate in the project, there are instructions in your church mailboxes. As all boxes have been scooped up please feel free to use one of your own. The deadline to have the boxes returned here is Sunday, November 17th. Please leave them under the church mailboxes. Thank you from the Bethel Deacons.

Coffee Break 

invites all ladies to join in on our November 13th Bible discussion. We will be looking at Lisa Chan’s video: “Deny Yourself”, followed by a group discussion. We will begin the morning with a potluck breakfast starting at 9:15 a.m. For more information contact Barb Vandyk. See you there!

The Lord willing, Bethel will be celebrating her 60th anniversary on November 30th, 2013 with a dinner and program. 

Tickets for this event are $20.00 per person and are available from any member of the Fellowship MLT: Joan Eisses, Erin Lewin, Janneke Roolker, Marcella Van Stryland, Ann Wildeboer or Anita Geldof. Tickets will also be available from the church secretaries during office hours. The evening will include a delicious meal as well as a program of singing and any stories, skits and games that the congregation provides. Please feel free to talk to anyone on the team if you have any questions. We look forward to a wonderful evening of remembering and celebrating. On Sunday, December 1st, we have a special service of celebration and praise!


This week’s offering is for World Renew – World Hunger Sunday

They are currently working with partners in 30 countries around the world to address issues such as illiteracy, hunger, malnutrition, unemployment, HIV/AIDS, child mortality and injustice. The Fall Hunger Campaign is called THINK, ACT, FAST. World Renew does not receive ministry shares and depends on the donations and offerings of churches and individuals. Classis Alberta North donates the most per member to World Renew of all the Classis of the Christian Reformed Church.

Next week’s offering is for the Lacombe Food Bank.

Day Of Encouragement - It’s Not Too Late! 

You can still register for this Saturday’s Day of Encouragement held at The King’s University College. Registration begins at 8 a.m. & keynote with Dr. Syd Hielema begins at 9 a.m. followed by workshops and information sessions. Wrapping up with closing is at 3:30 p.m. There are topics which will be of interest to young adults, youth leaders, parents, church leaders and volunteers alike. Registration is $60 for the full day or $30 for the ½ day. Look for brochures and registration forms in your church or from your deacons. Perspectives on the World Christian Movement. 

“The Perspectives Course” An awesome course for anyone with a heart for missions, or for anyone who just wants to know more about missions. This is a 16 week course that will run on Thursdays from 6:30-9:30 p.m. starting November 7, 2013 and going to March 20, 2014 with a 4 week break for Christmas and New Year’s. This course can be taken at 4 levels from Audit to Certificate up to Graduate Credit. The cost is $235, discounts are available.
