Bethel News

Hearty Meals

is a program of the Fellowship MLT where meals are delivered to those in the congregation as needed. Have a new baby? Moving? Someone in the hospital? Struggling to keep up? Our church family does not always have too many options in being helpful, but meals are always a good start and so appreciated. A number of ladies help out in this area. If you would like to be part of this ministry please get in touch with Cora Stol, the new coordinator. If you know of a need, please let Cora know.

Bethel Newsletter

A new year is well under way and it is time to start again with the Bethel Newsletter. February’s newsletter will be out in a few weeks. We will be focusing on the heart. We invite you to submit articles that speak about heart health whether that be physical, emotional or spiritual. In this month that celebrates love and we see hearts made out of candy and paper and snow and anything that you can think of, we wonder about the deeper things of the heart. Many of our members have had heart attacks and surgeries. We would love to have some information about keeping your heart physically healthy and happy. We look forward to hearing from you. Please have your contributions in to the either Harriet Luymes or Anita Geldof by next Monday, January 27th. Thanks so much and blessed New Year to all of you. We look forward to working together for you again in order to keep the congregation informed, up to date, and perhaps, a little entertained.

More than 30 believers were killed on January 6th when hundreds of Fulani Muslim herdsmen, armed with guns and machetes, stormed a village in Plateau State. Soldiers stationed at the village to protect the believers joined the herdsmen in the assault. Dozens of homes were set on fire, and the cattle belonging to the villagers were killed or stolen. Approximately 15 believers were critically injured and were receiving care at a Christian hospital. Of those killed, many were women and children. As our Christian family in Nigeria face relentless attacks and trials, may they rest in the knowledge that the Good Shepherd is walking closely with them through this difficult time (Psalm 23). Intercede on behalf of those who are mourning. May they cling to the promise that their loved ones are now experiencing life to the fullest in heaven. Pray that God will work mightily in the lives of those who perpetrated this attack, drawing them into relationship with His Son Jesus.
