Please remember our church family in your daily prayers at mealtimes and during your personal devotions. Continue to remember those young and old with ongoing physical, spiritual, and emotional struggles.

Congratulations to the following people who celebrating their birthdays this week. Agnes Prins with her birthday today, Joanne van Gyssel with her birthday on April 17th and Gerry Doornenbal with his birthday on April 18th. We pray that God will bless each one of you on your special day of celebration and may you feel him near in the year to come.

Many thanks for the support received in the form of cards, messages, food, flowers and visits during the recent passing of Grace Spelt. Also the understanding and acceptance of her condition the past number of years. It is all so much appreciated. The significance of the church community is really felt during these times. The Spelt Family

We would like to thank our congregation for the sympathy shared with us and for all the cards we received. To God be the glory for taking my daughter Grace to her heavenly home.

Bethel News

Dear congregation.

Three months have gone by and we usually have met the ministry shares for King’s College and a third of the denominational ministry shares. This year we are behind the $27,000 needed to fill this obligation. Please consider this when deciding what amount to put on your next cheque. From the General Administration Leadership Team.

Council Executive meeting highlights:

1. We went over the minutes of all meetings.

2. We will be going back to regular bread for communion and the gluten free bread will be distributed on a separate plate for those who need it. It can be requested at any time before or during the service.

3. We will keep our services at 4 p.m. throughout the summer. To be reviewed in the fall.

4. We went over nominations for the upcoming casting of lots for council positions.

5. Continued our planning for the arrival of Charles Van Hoffen. (Seminary Student).

Today you will find World Renew Tanzania Team partner cards in your church mailboxes.

It is the hope that these cards will help you to get to know Chris Enns, World Renew Team partner in Tanzania as well as his family. The profile cards have a detachable bookmark that can be placed in a Bible or put on a fridge to keep Chris and his family in your prayers and in your thoughts.

HOPE is the theme for this year’s YC2014

We really believe that God has a purpose for everyone and are praying that all will experience His power and His Presence at YC Alberta and beyond! We are asking for $75 now and the remainder will be due prior to leaving. Please submit your payment and or questions to Andrew Tenbrinke as soon as possible. Your consent and liability forms are located on the back table in the foyer.

Neighborhood Life in Central Alberta

is moving forward. The initial 8 neighbourhoods are looking to add to the mix. And we are inviting you to join us beginning in May (read the stories at www.centralalberta.blogspot.ca) Here are a few ways to do this:

1. Invite someone from Neighbourhood Life over to discuss the ways in which we have effectively connected neighbours together and sought out what God has already been doing in our neighbourhoods

2. Register for "Axiom" in Red Deer (May 9 & 10). This training in provided by Home Missions and a donor has covered the cost for all Christian Reformed members. Contact Neighbourhood Life for more info or look for "Axiom" on the web: www.forgecanada.ca/events

3. Host a block/road party. Ideas for block/road parties have been placed on the Red Deer, Blackfalds and Lacombe websites. Red Deer has block party month in May, otherwise "June is block party month" in central Alberta. Build bird houses together, host a garage sale together, use Neighbourhood Life's free BBQ to eat together, practice hospitality.

For more information on these ideas, contact Neighbourhood Life at 403-505-9897 or email rickabma@gmail.com
