Bethel Young Adults:

Classis Alberta North Young Adults retreat

It is time once again for the annual Classis Alberta North Young Adults (CANYA) retreat. This year’s event, taking place May 23rd – 25th, is called, “Racing….back to the future” (loosely based on the Amazing Race game) and will take place in beautiful Canmore Alberta, where we will be staying at the Holiday Inn. This event is for those aged between 18 - 30. The cost per person for this event is only $120 (payable when you arrive) which includes accommodations, meals (except Saturday lunch) and a late night trip to the Banff Hot Springs. For more information and/or to register, please go this website http://canym.weebly.com/canya-retreat.html. Registration deadline is May 4th so please register ASAP as we have limited space. Please call Ron deVries, Classis Youth Ministry Consultant (780-619-6566) if you have any other questions.

HOPE is the theme for this year’s YC2014

and our cry for students is that they would know the Love of God and the Hope that He offers them. We really believe that God has a purpose for everyone and are praying that all will experience His power and His Presence at YC Alberta and beyond! Many have spoken up to come and join us and WCCC in attending this event. What we ask you to do now is place a down payment on your commitment to go. We are asking for $75 now and the remainder will be due prior to leaving. Please submit your payment and or questions to Andrew Tenbrinke as soon as possible. Your consent and liability forms are located on the back table in the foyer.

Neighborhood Life in Central Alberta

is moving forward. The initial 8 neighbourhoods are looking to add to the mix. And we are inviting you to join us beginning in May (read the stories at www.centralalberta.blogspot.ca) Here are a few ways to do this:

1. Invite someone from Neighbourhood Life over to discuss the ways in which we have effectively connected neighbours together and sought out what God has already been doing in our neighbourhoods

2. Register for "Axiom" in Red Deer (May 9 & 10). This training in provided by Home Missions and a donor has covered the cost for all Christian Reformed members. Contact Neighbourhood Life for more info or look for "Axiom" on the web: www.forgecanada.ca/events

3. Host a block/road party. Ideas for block/road parties have been placed on the Red Deer, Blackfalds and Lacombe websites. Red Deer has block party month in May, otherwise "June is block party month" in central Alberta. Build bird houses together, host a garage sale together, use Neighbourhood Life's free BBQ to eat together, practice hospitality.

For more information on these ideas, contact Neighbourhood Life at 403-505-9897 or email rickabma@gmail.com

Our roster of campers is almost full. We do have some Youth Week Camper spots available. With your help, we can “FLOURISH in the land.”
