Please remember our church family in your daily prayers at mealtimes and during your personal devotions. Continue to remember those young and old with ongoing physical, spiritual, and emotional struggles.

Lillian Mercier was released from the hospital last week and is now residing in the Royal Oaks residence. We pray that she will feel at home soon and for improved health as well.

Els Ebens was released from the hospital on Thursday and able to return to her home at the Seniors’ Lodge and is steadily improving. We give thanks to God for his faithfulness to her in these past few weeks.

Congratulations to Dorothy Meindersma will the celebration of her birthday today. May you be blessed with an enjoyable day with your family and friends and may God be with you in a special way in the year to come.

Lawrence & Annette Sackmann will be moving to Strathmore at the end of this month. We pray that they will be blessed in their new home. Their new address there is 110-43 Westlake Circle, Strathmore, AB, T1P 1T6. The new phone number is 403-983-3942.

Jim and Wanetta Brander are celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary this week and as a church family we would like to congratulate them on this special occasion and wish them God's Blessings. The beautiful flowers in front of the church will be presented to the Branders this week as they celebrate 25 years of God's faithfulness in their lives.

Do remember our seniors and shut ins Albert & Tilly Biel, Klaas Boskers, Lea Dykstra, Ernie Stebner and Grace Vander Veen in prayer.

I intend to be visiting Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. Please contact me if you want to schedule a visit for one of these times or another time that is more suitable for you.

Mark, Selina, Luke & Levi Patterson 

will be coming to Lacombe to stay for several months before they return to China. As a way of welcoming the Pattersons back to our church family, we invite you to help fill their pantry and fridge/freezer! Food items can be brought to church on Sunday, July 6th. Coolers and boxes will be in the church Fellowship hall to place your food items in. Bethel News

Next Sunday, June 29th 

Pastor Charles will lead the morning service. The message will be a continuation of Acts 3-4 with a focus on Acts 4:13-31 – The boldness of Peter and John. In the afternoon Elder August Luymes will lead the worship service.

Hilights from Full Council meeting of June 18th:

1. New members were welcomed and everyone signed the Covenant for Office Bearers and Confidentiality Agreement.

2. Our new Executive was chosen. Chair - Peter Prins, Vice - Herman Scholing, Clerk - Jack Oudman, Treasurer - Jan Rodenburg, General Adjunct - Pete Heidelberg.

3. The Council social is set for July 2nd at the home of Herman and Betty Scholing at 6:30 p.m.

4. Accepted a letter of Resignation as Deacon from Rod Duckett.

5. Retiring office bearers said their goodbyes.

New Worship, Hospitality and Nursery schedules 

for the months of July through September have been placed in the church mailboxes. With summer holidays approaching, we ask that you make every effort to find a replacement for yourself if you will be away when you are scheduled to take part in the worship services, be a greeter, serve coffee or be in the nursery. Thank you!

Vacation Bible School - Good News Farm, August 5-8, 2014

VBS is quickly approaching! Our planning team is preparing for a great week of teaching about Jesus, singing, skits, games and crafts. Please pray for this important ministry for the children of our community. Pray that God would be glorified and that Jesus’ name would be proclaimed. Pray that all preparations will be made and that we will receive the needed volunteers. We are still looking for the following positions. Please prayerfully consider if this may be a ministry you may serve in. Please contact Pastor Charles with your interest to volunteer as soon as possible.

Positions needed:

· 3 Shepherds (adults to lead a group of children around)

· 6 Helpers (youth ages 11-17 who will help the shepherd)

· Advertising

· Games Leader

· Power Point

· Sound

· Singers

· Pianist

· Decorating Helpers

Diaconal Ministries Canada 

is looking for a local Ministry Developer for the Parkland region. If you have a heart for the servant leadership of deacon's ministry, this position may interest you. Areas of ministry include equipping local deaconates with resources, encouraging deacons and churches to explore community ministry opportunities, and promoting justice resources. This position requires 2-4 hours a week. Please contact Rachel Vroege, the Regional Ministry Developer for Western Canada for further details and renumeration.


Kamp Lone Pine

Please join us on July 5th at Kamp Lone Pine for our final work bee to get the site ready for the Camp!! We will be chopping and clearing out the last trees. Work bee starts at 8:00 a.m. and lunch will be provided. Please come out for some fun, fellowship & hard work! On another note we are in need of a lot of baking for our staff volunteers during the week of camp. We are looking for baking for 200+ staff daily. If you are able to provide some, we would like to have it before July 20th. You can put it at the church in the fridge marked for Kamp Lone Pine. Thank you!

Central Alberta Youth Unlimited (Youth for Christ) 

is looking for a full time Youth Worker in Ponoka, AB. A person who possesses a personal faith in Jesus Christ; strong heart to see youth know Christ; ability to build into potential leaders, inspire youth, and walk alongside youth as an informal mentor; team player. Experience or training in youth work, small group work or counselling is an asset. Each staff member is responsible for raising 100% of their salary through fundraising and donations. Join a Worldwide Prayer Campaign for Nigeria. This week, from June 15th to 22nd, please join believers around the world in a global prayer campaign for our Nigerian brothers and sisters in Christ who have encountered tremendous persecution. In particular, we invite you to join in the following special prayer by Benjamin Kwashi, the Anglican Archbishop of Jos: "Almighty and everlasting God, we praise and glorify You for the creation of the world. We thank you for Nigeria and her people. Have mercy on all her people, especially the youth, women and children. Forgive her sin and cover her shame. Deliver and free Nigeria from violence, corruption and evil...from the sponsors of abduction, destruction and persecutions. Bring speedily the days of peace and restoration.
