Next week Sunday, July 20th at 4:00 p.m

We will meet here at Bethel for a service of Scripture, prayer, and song. Lord willing, we will conclude our mini-series on Habakkuk, and learn how Habakkuk was able to rejoice in the Lord despite the circumstances he was facing.

Lacombe Day Parade

Bethel church is entering a float in the Lacombe Day Parade on July 19th. Our theme for our float this year will be celebrating our very own GEMS & Cadet programs. We are looking for boys and girls to wear their GEMS and Cadet uniforms, throw candy and pass out brochures to the kids and their parents in the crowd watching. They can walk along with the float, ride a bike, rollerblade etc. We need to know as soon as possible who would be able to help out. Please contact Grant Zuidhof or Gaylene Tenbrinke for more information.

Cadet International Camporee, Kamp Lone Pine

We offer our condolences to Cathy Dowling, Curt & Amy Dowling and family and Roger & Anita Swier and family with the passing of Simon Swier on Tuesday, July 8th at the age of 93 years. We pray that God would be very near to them, provide for them, and comfort them in the days and weeks ahead.

We pray for Els Ebens and her health. May she experience God’s peace and love. And may God provide a suitable home for her.

Congratulations to Jake Prins with the celebration of his 88th birthday this coming Friday. May you feel God’s nearness and love on your birthday and in the coming year!

As a militant group sweeps across the country and leaves devastation in its wake, Christians are urgently seeking prayer for their homeland. Militants from the Islamic State of Iraq and ash-Sham (ISIS) have gained full control of Mosul. Historically known as Nineveh, the city is the traditional heartland of Iraq's church. The vast majority of Christians there, up to 1,000 families have joined the exodus of around half a million residents fleeing the desolation. The situation is the worst they have ever been. Let us bring this situation to the throne of our Almighty God, with the assurance that He is ultimately in control of this world. Pray that He will use His people to extend peace and grace to those struggling and in pain. Ask Him to provide for the needs of the thousands of refugees, also granting long-term solutions that will lead to peace and stability. Pray that the militants will repent and come to faith in Jesus Christ.
