OUR CHURCH FAMILY

Please remember our church family in your daily prayers, at mealtimes and during your personal devotions. Continue to remember those young and old with ongoing physical, spiritual, and emotional struggles.

Our family of the week is Klaas & Lies Boskers. Please keep them in your daily prayers.

We continue to pray for Carina Tenbrinke as she recovers from transplant surgery.

We also remember Bill Noordhof and Paul Prins as they recover from shoulder operations.

We pray that God would provide for Pita and Gerry Doornenbal as they await his transfer back to a care facility in Lacombe.

Do remember our seniors and shut-ins: keep Albert & Tilly Biel, Klaas Boskers, Gerry Doornenbal, Lea Dykstra, Ernie Stebner and Grace Vander Veen in your prayers.

Pray for our missionaries around the world.

Plan to Protect®:

I am still waiting for a few child/youth consent forms! I will be handing out new forms for those who haven’t responded yet. If you receive a new form please fill it out as soon as possible. For the Pre-School, the parents will have to leave the sanctuary after the morning children’s message to sign them in. Please make sure while you are picking up your child you sign them out! Tuesday Nite Youth and Cadets is still in need of Hall Monitors. This includes walking the hallways during our instruction time. We are asking our parents to step up and take a turn to fill a spot and contribute to this fine youth ministry opportunity. For more information and/or to sign up contact Dana van Gyssel as soon as possible.

Help Another Nation Develop Schools – A HANDS - On opportunity to serve and learn with EduDeo Ministries:

Would you like to travel to another part of the world, experience a different culture, and meet others serving Christ? Would you like to make a real difference in the life of a child at the same time? EduDeo Ministries’ HANDS teams provide an opportunity to both learn and serve. Bernie Kolkman is hoping to lead a HANDS team to the Dominican Republic from February 13-23, 2015. HANDS team experiences are an exciting opportunity to see first-hand the difference that Christ-centred education makes in developing countries. By assisting with a school construction project, you’ll be able to learn from and serve with indigenous workers, teachers and students in the Dominican Republic. Take this opportunity to grow, and then come back equipped to make a difference in your own community as well! To discuss this opportunity and find out more details contact Bernie Kolkman at 403-782-3908 or e-mail him at kolkman@telus.net. Learn more about EduDeo Ministries at www.edudeo.com.

PERSECUTED CHURCH

Cuba

A Christian couple, pastor/religious freedom activists, were recently threatened with criminal charges if they refused to stop their work in advocating for religious freedom. Authorities pressured them to sign an "Acta de Advertencia," a document that can be used as justification for future arrests and criminal charges, which was refused. Officials warned them to stop having contact with "counter-revolutionary" elements or risk imprisonment. Pray that God will grant them courage and wisdom as they now discern how to continue their efforts in light of these threats and that the country's authorities will cease their intimidation tactics. Ask that God will use His children in Cuba to increase the growth of the Church in both number and faithfulness.
