OUR CHURCH FAMILY

Please remember our church family in your daily prayers, at mealtimes and during your personal devotions. Continue to remember those young and old with ongoing physical, spiritual, and emotional struggles.

Congratulations to Helena Kits & Jenny Bajema with the celebrations of their birthdays, yesterday, January 3rd. We pray that God will be with you both in a special way in the coming year.

Do remember our seniors and shut-ins: keep Albert & Tilly Biel, Klaas Boskers, Gerry Doornenbal, Lea Dykstra, Ernie Stebner and Grace Vander Veen in your prayers.

Pray for our missionaries around the world.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Next Sunday, January 11th

We have some sermon requests from the congregation. In the morning we will read from Psalm 19 and delve into the intricacies of this good creation as it proclaims the glory of God. In the evening we read from 2 Corinthians 12;2 and consider the much greater glory of heaven. Pastor Mike will lead our worship. We will also be participating in the Lord’s Supper in our morning service.

The Calvinist Cadet Corps

is thankful for the dedicated service Dick Broene has provided for over 30 years as our executive director. Now, as he is retiring in 2015, we are having a celebration for Dick on January 9, 2015, beginning at 7 PM. It will be held at Plymouth Heights Christian Reformed Church in Grand Rapids. If you want to join us for this celebration, please let us know you're coming with an RSVP to info@calvinistcadets.org or by calling 616-241-5616, ext 3027. If you can't attend, notes may also be sent to the email address listed here.

Evolution, Sin, and Redemption

An Evening With Dr. Loren Haarsma--Thursday, January 15 at 7:30 pm at the King's University. CRC Campus Ministry, in partnership with the King's University and Inglewood CRC, invites you to a presentation by Calvin College Physics professor, Dr. Loren Haarsma. As modern science sheds more light on human origins, the questions of the historicity of Adam and Eve and original sin are generating much discussion in our denomination. In his presentation, Dr. Haarsma will summarize both the scientific evidence and the main points of Christian tradition around humans as God's image-bearers, the human soul, and original sin. He will also discuss several competing scenarios for harmonizing long-standing Christian doctrines with recent scientific discoveries. This is a free public event. For more information contact Rick VanManen at rpvanmanen@ualberta.ca or visit the CRC Campus ministry Facebook page.
