July 17 Bulletin

Please remember our church family in your daily prayers, at mealtimes and during your personal devotions. Continue to remember those young and old with ongoing physical, spiritual, and emotional struggles.

Congratulations to Herman & Betty Scholing who celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary this past Tuesday! May God bless you with many more years together!

We remember Harry Van Stryland, Cora Stol and Alice Scholing.

By God’s grace, the doctors found that Steve Ogi’s foot could be surgically strengthened. They were able to do everything they had planned and now it is hoped the foot will heal. We give thanks along with Caroline and the family for this blessing.

Congratulations to Jacob Prins as he celebrates his birthday on Monday, to Harry Van Stryland with his birthday on July 25th, and to Nelly Keitel with her birthday on July 28th. Wishing you all a day filled with our Lord’s richest blessings with family and friends. May you feel the nearness of God in the year to come.

Do remember those who are unable to worship regularly with us: please keep Jenny Bajema, Tilly Biel, Klaas Boskers, Gerry Doornenbal, Lea Dykstra, Ernie Stebner and Grace Vander Veen in your prayers.

Pray for our missionaries around the world.

Bethel VBS!

Adventurous adults and teens, we need you! Are you prepared to travel back in time to Ancient Egypt, to meander the marketplace, eat the food, hear the music, and learn some new things about Joseph along the way? Then Egypt VBS is just where you need to be this summer! For the week of July 25-29, mornings only, we still need 3 more family leaders and LOTS of assistant's (anyone who has finished grade 5 and up). Call Erin at 403-789-7995 to volunteer your time for an amazing week of working God's will in the lives of children.

VBS is in need of some supplies that you might have.

Look around your house, and if you have some of these items to spare for a week please give Erin a call (403-789-7995) or bring them to church. The things we need include: Throw pillows for kids to sit on, baskets of any size for decoration and storage, colorful blankets, old towels for cleaning up after brickmaking, 5 ropes or lassoes, and fencing material for the petting zoo (including something sturdy for the goat). Items that can't be returned include: straw for brickmaking - a quarter of a square bale, and one Bobcat bucket of good mud-making dirt for brickmaking.

Thanks for looking around to see if you have any of these items to spare to make VBS that much more fun!

Next Saturday, July 23rd, we will be decorating the church for VBS at 2:00 PM.

Anyone is welcome to come help us put the vision together. More hands makes merry work. See you there!

On April 17th, gunmen attacked a group of Christian workers who were on their way to distribute Voice of the Martyrs-sponsored Bibles. Although the attackers beat one team member and threatened to shoot their driver, all of the workers survived the attack and were able to complete the Bible distributions. The team of workers visited 11 churches in remote villages and towns, distributing Bibles and study guides to more than 700 people. Many Christians cried with joy as they received copies of God's Word for the first time. In addition to distributing Bibles, one worker shared his testimony and many others came to faith in Christ. Please pray for the Christian workers involved, as well as those who gratefully received the Bibles from them.
