2017‎ > ‎January 22 Bulletin‎ > ‎

Today we bring our offerings for the Lacombe Community Refugee Effort. The Al Omar family, Bashar, Naema, Gahzeye, Jouliet, Ibrahim & Mohamad have been in Canada for almost 7 months. They are learning English and the children are attending school in Lacombe. Bashar has been working at the Van Stryland farm and Naema has canned & frozen vegetables and fruit to help the family. They are experiencing their first winter here – lots of snow & cold! They are determined to work hard to become productive citizens of their new country but they do still require help from the local Refugee Effort. Please keep them in your prayers – your support in any way is much appreciated!

Next week our church will take an offering for the Bethel Cadets.

The Goal of Cadeting: Luke 2:52 states that “Jesus grew in wisdom and stature and in favor with God and men.” The goal of the Calvinist Cadet Corps, based upon that verse, is to help boys to grow spiritually in all areas of life (devotional, mental, physical, and social) by providing Christian men with a uniquely designed structure, program, and materials so that they can mentor boys effectively.

We welcome our Cadets as they share with us their joy and vision for ministry. Their theme this year is based on Hebrews 12:1-2 as they invite us to “Get in the Game.” Pastor Mike will lead our worship.
