April 9 Bulletin

OUR CHURCH FAMILY

Please remember our church family in your daily prayers, at mealtimes and during your personal devotions. Continue to remember those young and old with ongoing physical, spiritual, and emotional struggles.

Congratulations to Agnes Prins as she celebrates her birthday on Thursday. Wishing you a wonderful day filled with the Lord’s richest of blessings with family and friends. J

Do remember those who are unable to worship regularly with us: please keep Jenny Bajema, Klaas Boskers, Lea Dykstra, Ernie Stebner and Grace Vander Veen in your prayers.

Pray for our missionaries around the world.

From the secretaries:

The bulletin deadline is changing, effective immediately. The deadline is now Thursdays at 6:00 p.m. Please submit all bulletin announcements to the secretaries’ mailbox or by email to the church office at bchurch2@shaw.ca by this deadline to ensure placement in the weekly bulletin. Thanks so much!!

From the Church Treasurer:

To all the congregation – the bank is getting fussy about cheques made out to Bethel CRC. They would like the full name of “Bethel Christin Reformed Church” on the line that says pay to the order of. This may be a burden for some of you but it is a small one. It will be a big burden if I have to start returning cheques to you. Hopefully you will comply with the bank’s request. Thank you from August Luymes.

News about the Summer Seminary Student.

The Seminary wrote: “We know that you are anxious to hear if you will be receiving a Calvin Seminary student as an intern this summer. We wish we had better news, but at this time we do not have a student for placement in your ministry. We do have several students who do not need to do an internship for academic credit but who are interested in doing an internship for added experience. We have given them your name, so it is still possible to have a student for your position. We have also given this information to graduating students/candidates. Some of them may be interested in serving a church as a summer supply (or possibly even longer) while they are awaiting a call. We will keep you informed if we have a student or candidate interested in your ministry.”

Getting To Know You Coffee

The season has come to a close for the Fellowship Ministry Leadership team’s formal "getting to know you coffee" with hosts and guests. However, it is always the season to fellowship with your fellow church members. Talk to someone in church or phone someone and invite them to coffee. Continue "getting to know you" in the weeks and months ahead.

Book Club is coming up.

On Thursday April 13th there will be a meeting to discuss the book "The Russlander" by Sandra Birdsall. This will be at the home of Margaret Roolker at 7:30 p.m. It will be Martha's turn to bring some refreshments. See you all there!
