May 21 Bulletin

Please remember our church family in your daily prayers, at mealtimes and during your personal devotions. Continue to remember those young and old with ongoing physical, spiritual, and emotional struggles.

We remember Dorothy & Harry Wildeboer and Paul & Cindy Prins and their families in prayer with the sudden passing of their brother in law, Arthur Tolsma from a heart attack this past Wednesday. We pray for God’s comfort and peace for them and their sister Alice Tolsma and her family in the days to come.

We are wondering if there is anyone who can help us out with our small problem! Small problem being that our van is no more. We are in need of transportation to get back and forth for work and appointments and are looking for a cheap van. A van is needed to transport Steve's wheelchair. If anybody knows or hears about one please let us know. Our phone number is 403-596-2258. Thank you, Steve and Caroline Ogi

Do remember those who are unable to worship regularly with us: please keep Jenny Bajema, Klaas Boskers, Lea Dykstra and Ernie Stebner in your prayers.

Pray for our missionaries around the world.

Bethel News

Looking for a few wonderful Summer Sunday School teachers!!

We are in need of teachers and helpers for the summer months. Please take a look at the summer schedule on the table in the back foyer for the dates that work well for you! For more information contact Jessica Heidelberg.

Vacation Bible School is gearing up, and we need your help.

Anyone who has finished grade 5 is welcome to help, through anyone who is still mobile. There is something for everyone to do! Starting today there are sign-up sheets on the foyer table. We need dedicated people to run stations, active people to be crew leaders (just show up each day and lead your group of 5 through all the fun), and even have a list for "part-time" helpers who can just spend a morning or two with us. Please prayerfully consider how God might use you to reach Lacombe through VBS this July 3 - 7, from 9 to 11:30 a.m. daily.

This week’s Church Bible Reading Guide from the Gospel of John:

Week 5: Jesus Followers are Willing to Be Set Apart

Day 1 - John 8:31-59 Q: What does it mean to be adopted into the family of God?

Day 2 - John 9:1-12 Q: When Jesus works in our lives, do we insist on letting people know

what Jesus did?

Day 3 - John 9:13-41 Q: What are you willing to risk to proclaim Jesus? Would God be

satisfied with that?

Day 4 - John 10:1-21 Q: Do we as sheep know the Good Shepherd? Do we know his voice?

Do we know what he has done for us?

Day 5 - John 10:22-42 Q: John’s testimony about Jesus had a long-term impact, are we sharing

our testimonies so they can have long-term impact?

Final questions:

· What can you do to pay attention to works of Christ, and how are you going to share that with others?

· What Holy Spirit inspired thoughts came to me while reading that I should share with the Renewal Lab team?
