Welcome to Bethel!

We welcome Pastor Neil deKoning from Woody Nook CRC as he leads us in worship. During Advent we will focus on how the Light of God overcomes the darkness of the world. If you do not have a church home you are welcome here!

Today we bring our offerings for Lacombe and District Volunteer Link which is a registered charity that offers assistance to many people in our community. They drive people to medical appointments when they cannot drive themselves. They provide help in many ways to support those in need.

Next Sunday, December 24th we will take an offering for Rehoboth Christian Ministries. Rehoboth conveys God’s love to persons with disabilities and their families by making room for them and enabling them to flourish.

Christmas Day, December 25th we will take an offering for World Renew. Support World Renew as it responds to the enormous humanitarian needs of people around the world. Working with local church partners already on the ground to reach out to crisis-affected families, World Renew is there responding to natural disasters and conflict in many countries.

Food for Thought:

"O Lord, You have searched me and You know me...You know my anxious thoughts...lead me in the way everlasting." Psalm 139

The Lord knows us, in and out, there's no escaping His presence. Do we know Him? Do we know Him better than last year? We can find Him in Bethlehem.

Prayer Ministry:

Due to the busy schedules of this season there will be no congregational prayer gathering. Yet, prayer is still as needed as ever. It is still our only life-line, the only way to come into the presence of the Lord. Please make time in your busy schedules to pray, to spend time with the One who said: "I live in a high and holy place, but also with him who is contrite and lowly in spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly and to revive the heart of the contrite." Isaiah 57:15 - God pleased to dwell with men.

Please remember our church family in your daily prayers, at mealtimes and during your personal devotions. Continue to remember those young and old with ongoing physical, spiritual, and emotional struggles.

Congratulations to Pita Doornenbal with the celebration of her birthday today and to Klaas Boskers as he celebrates his tomorrow. To each of you we pray for continued blessings, love and laughter with family and friends. J

Do remember those who are unable to worship regularly with us: please keep Jenny Bajema, Klaas Boskers, Rena DeRuiter, Lea Dykstra and Ernie Stebner in your prayers.

Pray for our missionaries around the world.
