OUR CHURCH FAMILY

Please remember our church family in your daily prayers, at mealtimes and during your personal devotions. Continue to remember those young and old with ongoing physical, spiritual, and emotional struggles.

Do remember those who are unable to worship regularly with us: please keep Jenny Bajema, Klaas Boskers, Rena DeRuiter, Lea Dykstra and Ernie Stebner in your prayers.

Pray for our missionaries around the world.

BETHEL ALPHA

starts Thursday, January 25th after supper with Circle of Friends. You are welcome to join us. If you are wanting to know more about the Christian faith or to learn to talk about and share your faith, please come. Please let Henry Eisses know if you are able to help (403-782-2345); we can use 1 - 2 more helpers. Also, if you know of someone who would be interested in Alpha, be sure and let them know we are here for them.

Bible Study:

Come and join our multi-generational study on Sunday, January 28th, after the morning service at the home of Margaret Roolker. We'll prepare lunch together and join in conversation.

Congregational Prayer Gathering:

We are God's people, called by His name. If we humble ourselves, go to Him and call upon Him, He may hear us and heal us and continue His work among us. We will have another Congregational Prayer Gathering on Sunday, January 28th, at 7:00 p.m. Everyone is invited to join in prayer for the work and ministry of the Holy Spirit among us. Corporate prayer is needed for the Search Committee, the Renewal Lab, our Youth ministries, and many other things. We are still looking for a way to make it possible for all who come to participate and especially to hear, so please come and help us find that particular solution that will work for all involved.

Craft Day:

We will have our craft day again on January 20th, from 10:00 a.m. till 2:00 p.m. Coffee, warm lunch and tea will be provided. Bring your friends, neighbours, relatives, anyone interested in a relaxing day of crafting and socializing. If you plan to attend and/or need transportation, please let Margaret Roolker (403-782-4506) or Caroline Ogi (403-596-2258) know.

Thank you so much for supporting the Mustard Seed

In Red Deer in 2017. Your generous spirit of compassion is an inspiration to others. You are invited to participate in the Coldest Night of the Year Walk – February 24th. The Coldest Night of the Year is a super-fun, family friendly fundraiser for hungry, homeless, and hurting individual families in Red Deer. All proceeds go to the Mustard Seed. This is not your normal walk. This is a walk of awareness and empathy. This is an opportunity to walk a mile in the shoes of the most vulnerable. A meal will be provided at the Mustard Seed at the conclusion of the Walk. Please register a team from your church at https://cnoy.org/location/reddeer to help us raise our goal of $25,000. Your participation will make a significant difference in the lives of men, women and children in need. Last year your belief in our work helped us serve over 17,000 dinners and 53,000 lunches via the school lunch program, while providing spiritual care. Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will reward them for what they have done. Proverbs 19:17

PERSECUTED CHURCH

Canada

Starting this year, the federal government is requiring Canada Summer Jobs applicants to check off a box attesting that the organization’s core mandate respects “individual human rights,” with reproductive rights specifically mentioned. Pray that the legal actions, started by anti-abortion groups, may result in withdrawing this requirement.
