  3. Council determined the new Executive:

  2. A discussion was held regarding the letter in the Edmonton Journal regarding Delwin Vriends firing and the LGBTQ+ policy at Kings University. Kings sent Bethel information regarding their Faith Statement as well as a general letter regarding inclusivity at Kings. If you would like to read these articles, talk to any council member or ask Trudy Salomons, our former clerk.
  3. We said goodbye to the following office bearers: Wayne Bouwman (chair), Darran Vreugdenhil (Vise Chair), Kyle Van Stryland (Youth Elder), Marvin Ebens (Pastoral Elder) and Ed Stol (Deacon and Church Treasurer).

Please thank these men for their service these past three years as well as pray for the executive and council as we proceed without a Shepherd for the time being.

Please remember our church family in your daily prayers, at mealtimes and during your personal devotions. Continue to remember those young and old with ongoing physical, spiritual, and emotional struggles.

Congratulations to Dorothy Meindersma and Rena DeRuiter as they celebrate birthdays on Friday and Saturday. To both of you we pray for a wonderful day with family and friends. May our Lord continue to bless you into your new year! J

Do remember those who are unable to worship regularly with us: please keep Jenny Bajema, Klaas Boskers, Rena DeRuiter, Lea Dykstra and Ernie Stebner in your prayers.

Pray for our missionaries around the world.

In May, four ISIS terrorists stormed an Orthodox Church in Chechnya (southern Russia), armed with guns, axes and Molotov cocktails, killing one church member and two security officers, injuring another church member. A hotbed for Islamist activity, Chechnya's population is predominantly Muslim after most of the Christians fled during wars in the 1990's. Remember friends and families of those killed and injured in the attack. Pray for peace of heart for those who witnessed the violence. May governing authorities act justly toward those responsible.
