2018-09-23 Bulletin

Please remember our church family in your daily prayers, at mealtimes and during your personal devotions. Continue to remember those young and old with ongoing physical, spiritual, and emotional struggles.

Please remember Loraine Havinga in your prayers as her sister in the Netherlands has passed away on Tuesday, September 18, 2018. May the peace of our Lord comfort you during this time.

Do remember those who are unable to worship regularly with us. Please keep Jenny Bajema, Klaas Boskers, Rena DeRuiter, Lea Dykstra and Bill Noordhof in your prayers.

Pray for our missionaries around the world.

Bethel News

From the Deacons:

Please take note that beginning September 30, 2018 we will be going to only one collection plate during the offering. Remember, if you are writing a cheque to put a note in the memo portion, whether it is for Budget or otherwise. Any cash or Bethel bucks intended for the budget can be placed in an envelope provided in the pews. Please fill out the envelope before you place in the offering plate. We ask that you are all respectful of these offering envelopes and do not use them for other purposes. Thank you

Service Schedules:

In your mailboxes today are the schedules for the coming three months. If you are unable to do your service PLEASE find you own replacements. If you have any questions or concerns please let Dana know for the next schedule in the new year.

Craft Day:

On Saturday September 29th we will have our Craft Day. We will have the coffee ready for 9:30 a.m. There will be a warm lunch provided for you, and tea in the afternoon. Please let either Margaret (403-782-4506) or Caroline (403-596-2258) know if you are attending or if you need transportation, so we can plan for the luncheon. Bring a friend! See you there.

Prayer Meetings:

The regular prayer meetings have started again. This is an important ministry of our church. The LORD is our rock, our fortress and our deliverer. Our God is our rock, in whom we take refuge. He is our shield and the horn of our salvation, our stronghold. Psalm 18:2 We will call onto the Lord.We can pray this back to our Lord, and ask Him to make this true for each one of us, young or old. How would our Lacombe community see Bethel church then?

Bethel Newsletter

Time to start thinking about the next newsletter. We hope to have it in your mailboxes for Sunday, October 7th, Thanksgiving weekend. If you have something you would like to include, please submit it to either Harriet Luymes or Anita Geldof by Tuesday, October 2nd. If you plan to have an item that we can just photocopy as is, please don’t write on it. Please add a sticky note. We are always looking for stories, poems; personal things that help us get to know one another better. As we celebrate the goodness of the Lord, please feel free to share with the rest of the congregation. As your Bible study groups and other ministry groups begin, let us know what you are studying and what we can pray for, as you begin a new year of making new and better disciples for Christ in our Family at Bethel.

Local Christians meet in houses because they cannot get permission and official recognition to meet in public. The authorities also monitor them and they risk persecution if they evangelize. Pray for wisdom and guidance for Christians in this country.
