2018-11-04 Bulletin

Please remember our church family in your daily prayers, at mealtimes and during your personal devotions. Continue to remember those young and old with ongoing physical, spiritual, and emotional struggles.

John Bos remains in the Lacombe hospital and things are getting more difficult. The family is looking into long term care. Please pray for an opening to come available, continue to pray for John’s comfort and for Shirley and the rest of the family as they care for John. Short visits are welcome for the time being.

Do remember those who are unable to worship regularly with us. Please keep Jennie Bajema and Rena DeRuiter in your prayers.

Pray for our missionaries around the world.

Please do not let the opportunity slip to come together in prayer on behalf of the congregation and miss out on being blessed yourself. Since we have access to the Father and may come boldly before Him, "…let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage another...." Hebrews 10:24,25 Praying for each other is such an 'uplifting' ministry. Our next meeting will be November 13th.

Ministry to Seafarers – Vancouver:

We are preparing for the Christmas at Sea season for seafarers again this year, and your donations are much appreciated. You can still send to 401 E Waterfront Rd, Vancouver, BC V6A 4G9. However, this year we are having problems depositing cheques made out to "Ministry to Seafarers." Therefore, please make cheques payable to "Classis BCNW" and designate them to "Ministry to Seafarers, Christmas at Sea" on the memo line.

Books of the Bible:

The Gospel of Mark chronicles Jesus’s journey from Galilee to Jerusalem. Along the way, the Messiah gathers a ragged band of disciples. As crowds grow and dwindle on the road to Jerusalem, only a few stick by the Suffering Savior on the road of discipleship. In this 11-part series on the Gospel of Mark, author and speaker Francis Chan invites us to walk with him along the ancient ways of the Master. Tracing the steps of Jesus and the Twelve through Israel, Francis explores the major themes of the Gospel of Mark, and asks: Are we willing to take this journey to embrace discipleship? Check out this title and many others, for your Book of the Bible studies. They are located on the Rightnow Media site or the App under the Bethel CRC library and then the Weekly Feature. Take a look today!! If you are in need of assistance, please contact Dana.

After more than nine years in prison, the Supreme Court ruled on October 31st to throw out all charges against Asia Bibi, removing the death sentence against her for blasphemy. The news of the verdict has brought riots throughout Pakistan. The leader of the militant political party has threatened the lives of the judges and Asia's lawyer. He further promised dire consequences for government and military leaders and international organizations working within the country. Asia and her family will no longer be safe in Pakistan; there is also concern for the safety of other Christians throughout the country in the face of the violent protests. Praise the Lord for this wonderful answer to prayer! Thank God for raising up judges who are willing to take a stand for the truth despite personal danger. Pray for the protection of the country's Christians, government leaders, judges and others who are under threat as a result of this case. Ask the Lord to guide Asia and her family to a safe haven of greatly needed rest and restoration. Also remember the estimated 40 other citizens in Pakistan who are presently on death row or serving life sentences for alleged blasphemy.
