Next Sunday, November

We welcome our Interim Pastor, Gary Bomhof as he leads us in worship. We will celebrating the Lord's Supper together. All are welcome! J

After the morning service on December 2nd the Fellowship Ministry Leadership Team invites you join in fellowship to our next Bethel Potluck. Lasagna & Buns will be provided, please bring a Salad OR Dessert. Please remember to bring enough food for your family plus some extra. All are welcome!

Food for Thought:

The Lord Jesus once said, "Don't let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, trust also in Me...Take heart! I have overcome the world!" John 14:1; 16:33b. And from the lyrics of a popular song: "Don't let your heart be troubled, don't be afraid", to the broken-hearted that wished they'd never been born, never been torn, never sinned, never disobeyed - I know you think there is no hope, but that isn’t true, Jesus saves!...He came for the sick...came for the weak...came for the poor...came with the keys...so the prisoners are released." From the song, Start Over; FlatmeLyrics)

Prayer:

Do you wonder what you can do for your persecuted brothers and sisters? We can and must engage in the one activity for which we are especially equipped: PRAY. "God has given us one clear, unparalleled action to take when persecution occurs: Pray." Mark Galli, EIC, Christianity Today, November 2018

From the Worship Ministry Leadership Team:

The “new” red Lift Up Your Hearts hymnal was published by Faith Alive in 2013 a s a companion to the grey Psalter Hymnal which contains some songs that are not in the LUYH hymnal. The new hymnal contains 850 songs which consist of treasured hymns, new hymns, contemporary songs and songs from the global church. Songs from this hymnal are often part of our worship services here at Bethel. Although we do not have the hymnal in the church pews, there are some copies of the book that are available for use if you prefer to sing along with music in the worship service. These can be found on the shelf beside the sound booth near the east sanctuary entrance. We ask that you return the book to the shelf at the end of the service. If you are interested in having your own copy of the Lift Up Your Hearts hymnal, please contact Cindy Prins at 403-357-9181.

Our Church Family

If you have a prayer item and would like the congregation to pray for you during the week, it is suggested that you contact your District Elder. If you would like to directly place an item into the bulletin, please email your submission to Dana at bchurch2@shaw.ca. Due to being a vacant church, there has been some confusion as to who is responsible for having items appear in the bulletin. We hope that you either talk to your Elder or directly submit to the bulletin. Please note, items directly submitted to the bulletin must be from the immediate family, no prayer request on behalf of the extended family or a friend will be published due to privacy issues. Thank you!

OUR CHURCH FAMILY

Please remember our church family in your daily prayers, at mealtimes and during your personal devotions. Continue to remember those young and old with ongoing physical, spiritual, and emotional struggles.

From Alex and Ann Wildeboer, the Tilma and Breukelman families: We thank the Bethel Church family for their prayers, visits, cards, food, accommodations and words of encouragement at the time of Mr. Breukelman's passing.

Thank you and God bless you all. A special thank you to Anita Geldof for playing the piano and to Pastor Gary Bomhof for officiating at the service.

Art Dykstra recently had surgery to have a tumor removed, all has gone well and he is thankful for the Lord’s guidance throughout this time. He covets your prayers for a speedy recovery.

Grace Roolker will be going in for nasal surgery on November 19th. Please pray for peace and comfort for her. Ask that the Lord be with the Doctors and Nurses as they attend to Grace.

PERSECUTED CHURCH

Sudan:

Sudanese Christians are asking for prayer after a group of 12 believers were arrested. After each confirmed their faith, three of them, from a Christian background, were released but not those who had converted from Islam. After a week of pressure, torture and possible death penalty for apostasy, eight persons recanted their faith and they were set free. The remaining person, Tajadin Idris Yousef, a church leader, is waiting for his court appearance. Pray for Christian converts from Islam in Sudan facing threats from government officials. Pray that Tajadin will stand firm in his faith, knowing Christ's presence is with him.
