2019-03-03 Bulletin

Next Sunday, March 10th

We welcome the 2019 Mexico Mission team as we commission them for their mission to Tijuana, Mexico. Pastor Nic Wolmerans from Covenant CRC in Rocky Mountain House will lead us in worship. All are welcome!

Please remember our church family in your daily prayers, at mealtimes and during your personal devotions. Continue to pray for Henry Geldof and Steve Ogi. Remember those who are unable to worship regularly with us: Jennie Bajema, Bill Wildeboer and Rena DeRuiter. Pray also for those who struggle in silence with ongoing physical, spiritual, and emotional issues. I thank God, whom I serve, as my ancestors did, with a clear conscience, as night and day I constantly remember you in my prayers. 2 Timothy 1:3.

Patrick Finney has been admitted to the Red Deer Hospital and is in Unit 22. Patrick covets your prayers and would enjoy visitors.

Continue to pray for our missionaries around the world.

Nominations for Church Council

It's that time year again to consider Council nominations. This year we require two Elders, two Youth elders, and three Deacons to be added as part of Council for the next three years.

Completing their terms this year are Youth Elder Terry Vandenborn and Deacons Bryan Noordhof, Trudy Salomons and Rick Wildeboer.

Who is eligible for nomination? All office bearers are given a two year break between terms of service. Those who are therefore excused eligibility are Wayne Bouwman, Marvin Ebens, Ed Stol and Darran Vreugdenhil.

Women are eligible for the position of Deacon.

You do not need to speak with each person to nominate them and you can nominate as many people as you feel are qualified. The district Elders will officially approach people with the appropriate amount of nominations.

The present Council members are Pete Heidelberg, August Luymes, Bryan Noordhof, Peter Prins, Trudy Salomons, Herman Scholing, Andrew Tenbrinke, Terry Vandenborn, Rod Venhuis and Rick Wildeboer.

Please prayerfully consider nominating those members you feel are gifted to serve as office bearers. A nomination form will be handed out TODAY before the offerings are taken during the Worship service and the form will be collected as you leave the sanctuary. For those who cannot be present on March 3rd, nomination forms will be available from any council member. All nominations need to be submitted to the Council prior to the Council Executive meeting on Wednesday, March 13, 2019. If you have any questions please contact Peter Prins or Herman Scholing. We seek the Lord for his guidance in this process. Council deeply appreciates your prayerful consideration in this matter.

A Christian mother was killed by her husband on February 9th because she had recently accepted Christ. The attack happened at the moment that she was fleeing the country. Friends are asking for prayer on her behalf, her parents, as well as her children. Pray for God's comfort and strength to sustain the parents, children and friends. Also lift up the husband to Christ, that he will come to realize the seriousness of what he has done, along with an understanding of the truth contained in God's Word which speaks volumes of His saving grace.

Easter, Kids:

The Seeds of Easter, there are thousands of ways that your family can be distracted away from the true meaning of Easter. We believe this Seeds of Easter music and videos will help prepare your family’s heart to focus on Jesus death and resurrection. We believe the music/videos to word-for-word scripture will help your family go deeper with Jesus this Easter season. The Bedbug Bible Gang Easter Party, The Easter Promise & the Witness, The First Easter are all titles saved onto our Bethel Christian Reformed Church Library. Check them out for your Easter/Lent season studies. They are located on the Rightnow Media site or the App under the Bethel CRC library and then the Easter Feature. Take a look today!!
