UPCOMING SERVICES

Next Sunday, March 17th

We will focus on the annual denominational Prayer Day in our worship service. Pastor Gary Bomhof will lead us in worship for the last time in his role as interim pastor. His message of I Will Build My Church is based on Matthew 16:13-28. All are welcome!

OUR CHURCH FAMILY

Please remember our church family in your daily prayers, at mealtimes and during your personal devotions. Continue to pray for Henry Geldof and Steve Ogi. Remember those who are unable to worship regularly with us: Jennie Bajema, Bill Wildeboer and Rena DeRuiter. Pray also for those who struggle in silence with ongoing physical, spiritual, and emotional issues. I thank God, whom I serve, as my ancestors did, with a clear conscience, as night and day I constantly remember you in my prayers. 2 Timothy 1:3.

Gideons ShareWord Global

As you read this notice I (Henry Eisses) am currently in Chile (Lord willing) on a Go Team Gideon Outreach. Ten of us met in Toronto this past Thursday and left for Santiago Chile. Today we plan to attend a church service and do some evangelism. This week we will go in groups of 2 or 3 along with an interpreter to schools, parks, hospitals, plazas and churches. This will be a week of growing and stretching for all of us I’m sure. Your prayers would mean everything this week! Prayers that God would provide good sharing opportunities amidst the language barriers and that the Good News may be spread about! Eph.3:20. I hope to share about our experiences in an upcoming newsletter. Every year Gideons send Go Teams to National and International locations. This years’ destinations include Duncan, BC, Indigenous Youth Camps in Northern BC, and AB, Peru, Chile and Nicaragua. Thankful for your prayers, Henry.

With that, we are inviting everyone to come out at 7:30 on March 28th to a dessert evening held at Woody Nook CRC. God has done so much and we would love to share in more depth and detail what is all going on. We do ask that if you are planning on attending that you respond by email so that we can get a rough number, but don't worry, if you don't respond you are still welcome to attend! We hope that you all can come and celebrate with us the workings of our great God! For more info or to respond, you can email us folkerts@naim.ca Thank you, Sean and Becky Folkerts

PERSECUTED CHURCH

Pakistan

On February 6th, Sadaf Masih, a 13 year old girl, was abducted by influential men in her community. After eight days, the perpetrators came to her family to say that Sadaf had converted to Islam and was now married. They showed the family a marriage certificate which stated that she was 18 years old. The family's cries for justice have fallen on deaf ears. Despite threats from Muslims in the community, a case has been registered. However, the police are hesitant to confront the kidnappers. Forcible conversions of Christian and Hindu girls continue to be a problem in Pakistan. Despite international pressure, the government has not taken any action against the practice. Courts frequently rule in favor of Muslims due to pressure from Islamic groups. Please remember Sadaf and her parents in your prayers as they face this terrible situation. May they demonstrate the compassion of Christ to her kidnappers while they endeavour to bring her safely back home. Pray that the Pakistani government and courts will heed the pressure of those advocating on behalf of the kidnapped young teen so justice can be properly served.
