OUR CHURCH FAMILY

Please remember our church family in your daily prayers, at mealtimes and during your personal devotions. Continue to pray for Henry Geldof and Steve Ogi. Remember those who are unable to worship regularly with us: Jennie Bajema, Bill Wildeboer and Rena DeRuiter,. Pray also for those who struggle in silence with ongoing physical, spiritual, and emotional issues. I thank God, whom I serve, as my ancestors did, with a clear conscience, as night and day I constantly remember you in my prayers. 2 Timothy 1:3.

Polly Mooy had surgery earlier this week and everything went well. She is home and resting comfortably. Continue to pray for complete healing.

Our condolences to Jackie Bouwman and the family as her mother, Jacoba Hoetmer, passed away on Tuesday, May 21st. She was 91years of age. The funeral will be held on Tuesday, May 28th at 1:30 p.m. at First CRC Rocky Mountain House. We pray that the Lord grant you peace and strength throughout this difficult time.

We ask that you remember Bradly Smallboy in your prayers as he is working in Northern Alberta fighting

forest fires for the next two weeks. We ask for safety for him and the many, who are working long hours in very dangerous conditions.

Pray For SYNOD 2019: Synod 2019 will meet on the campus of Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan, from Friday, June 14th to Thursday, June 20th. Pastor Jake will be attending Synod this year; we ask that you remember him in his travels and his time at the meetings. May our God bless everyone attending!

Continue to pray for our missionaries around the world.

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28

Police Check Updates: Last week Sunday

Criminal Record Check cover letters were delivered. These are for those members who are required to have one done, members 16 years of age and above. Ministry team leaders will find a packet of letters to be delivered to your members in ministry that do not have a mailbox here at Bethel. I would greatly appreciate if you could hand them out at your next meeting. It is recommended that this be done every 3 to 5 years and some members are very overdue. Please take time to get this done. In most cases it doesn’t take much time. Contact Dana at the office for assistance.

Please remember to read chapters 2 & 3 of Reformed: What It Means and Why It Matters.

Prayer:

There will be a regular prayer meeting this coming Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the home of Margaret. Please join us when you feel the Spirit prompting you to pray for others, for our congregation. Prayer is the phone line that connects us directly to God's throne room!

BETHEL YOUTH

you are invited to Pastor Jake and Joyce’s home for a BBQ after church on Sunday, May 26th. This will be a chance for us to hang out and get to know one another over burgers, hot dogs, sausages and refreshments.

GEMS Camp News:

We have some exciting news for girls going into Grade 9 in September 2019. In the past, the cut-off for coming to camp as a camper was Grade 8, and coming as a CIT was Grade 10. This year we would like to introduce a program for Grade 9 girls called the Transition Year. It will be just that; a camp year between being a camper and being a Junior Counselor. The girls will be taught leadership skills, be encouraged to discover their unique talents and gifts, and will be challenged to build on their faith, all within the unique atmosphere of camp. The registration process will remain the same, except for the cost, which will be $100. The deadline for registration for the TY year will be May 30, 2019. Please contact Bonnie Bennik at gbbennik@platinum.ca if you have any questions.
