CHURCH OFFERINGS

Today’s offering is for Youth Unlimited. Youth Unlimitedhelps churches challenge youth to commit their lives to Jesus Christ and transform this world for Him.

Youth Unlimited is a non-profit, non-denominational Christian ministry organization that focuses on assisting local congregations in their youth ministry through short-term mission trips and youth conferences. They strongly believe that the local church is the tool God created to use to reveal himself to the world. Youth Unlimited is one of four ministries incorporated in an organization called Dynamic Youth Ministries:

  • GEMS Girls’ Club is a ministry for young girls.
  • Calvinist Cadet Corps is the companion ministry for boys.
  • The Esther School is a Christian day school in Nyangwena, Zambia.
  • Our next offering is for Ministry to Seafarers. Ministry to Seafarers meets with visiting seafarers, communicating the saving grace of Jesus Christ, through words and deeds. Their vision is to visit as many ships as possible which pass through the Port of Vancouver in order to share the Good News of God’s love in Jesus Christ with seafarers in Word and deed by providing literature and other resources, by serving them in practical ways at the seafarers’ centres, and by engaging in quality Christian dialogue whenever and however possible.

    UPCOMING SERVICES

    Next Sunday, December 22nd

Is the fourth Sunday of Advent, a time when the church slows down and reflects on the gift of Jesus who came to earth to become human like us. We also look forward to Jesus’ return during Advent. This Advent season we will be journeying through selected passages from the Book of Revelation: Angels, Help Us to Adore Him. Next Sunday we will be reflecting on Revelation 5, Who is Worthy? The Apostle John is still in heaven’s throne room and the question comes up, “Who is worthy?” Jesus is the one worthy because he has taken the sin of the world on himself onto the cross where we are redeemed from our sin. In Advent we remember that Jesus became human and redeemed for his Father “persons from every tribe and language and people and nation,” as his own. When Jesus returns, we will join Jesus and the Father as heaven and earth are rejoined once again.

You are invited to Bethel Christian Reformed Church, for a Blue Christmas Service to be held tonight Sunday, December 15th at 5:30 p.m. Blue Christmas is for those who have experienced loss, grief, struggles and more during the year that makes it difficult to celebrate the Christmas season as the culture around us celebrates. A Blue Christmas allows us to come together with others who are experiencing hurt and brokenness in a safe place. Where we can acknowledge our pain with people who understand and hear a word from God that reminds us that He also understands where we are at. While offering us hope in Jesus Christ who came and experienced life as we do, so that we come to a God who understands. Blue Christmas shines a bit of light into our darkness to remind us that we do not walk alone.
