FAMILY CORNER

During these days isolation, what are you and your family doing to keep busy? There are many different things one can do to keep entertained. Bethel Library will be open during office hours. If your family is looking for something to read, you’re more than welcome to come and pick out a few books for yourself and your children. There is lots of good reading to choose form.

Have you checked out RightNow Media, Focus on the Family, or CRC the Network and Faith Formation Ministries? Something new came to the office this week from Faith Alive Christian Resources, DWELL. Dwell isn’t new as we as a church have used the resources for our Sunday School programming for many years. What is new is the newsletter is offered to you, the congregation.

Located on these sites are many different opportunities to learn and to have fun. The following are some ideas for you to check out.

The following can be found on the site or app. Take a look and have some fun today!

THE PARABLE OF THE BUILDERS

JONATHAN EVANS

Storms in life are inevitable. We all face them at some point or another. Our concerns cause us to run to what we believe will rescue us—and that’s not always God. Sometimes we look to our own strength, our bank account, our reputation, or a relationship. Storms always lead us to what we look to for salvation—and what we look to makes all the difference.

In this one-session series, Pastor Jonathan Evans takes a fresh look at the Parable of the Builders and reminds us of the importance of building our lives on the solid foundation of God’s Word. We must dig deep and build our foundation on the rock of God’s Word. And when the storm comes, we must hol

d onto our loving Father who will carry us through to safety.

THE PARABLE OF THE GOOD SAMARITAN

JAMIN ROLLER

No one likes interruptions, but the Christian life is full of them. And for good reason. Whether they come in the form of a man beaten bloody on the side of the road or a child begging for our attention, we often fail to see interruptions for what they are—divine opportunities. God allows them to derail our plans for the sake of deepening our relationship with him and opening our eyes to our blind spots.

In this one-session series, Pastor Jamin Roller re-examines the Parable of the Good Samaritan to give us a fresh perspective on one of Jesus’s most famous parables. People are always more important than our plans. It’s a truth that can be difficult to remember that truth in our fast-paced world, but those who follow Jesus are called to love in a distinct way that begins with asking how to be a neighbor to those around us.
