Genesis 3:14–15 God’s Commitment

“So the Lord God said to the serpent, “Because you have done this, “Cursed are you above all livestock and all wild animals! You will crawl on your belly and you will eat dust all the days of your life. And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.”

God created everything good and very good, but humanity still decided that they knew better and chose their way instead of God’s way. But God never gives up on us, right from the start, God sets in place his plan to save us from the devil by sending us a saviour, Jesus, who would crush the head of the serpent. It comes at a cost; the cross is not cheap grace and such a great sacrifice calls for an equally strong response of gratitude and loyalty in return. Jesus gave his life for us and calls for us to give him our lives in return.

CT Article 2. From the beginning, through all the crises of our times, until the kingdom fully comes, God keeps covenant forever: Our world belongs to God! God is King: Let the earth be glad! Christ is victor: his rule has begun! The Spirit is at work: creation is renewed! Hallelujah! Praise the Lord!
