Psalm 19:1–6 Creation is Good

The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge. They have no speech, they use no words; no sound is heard from them. Yet their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world. In the heavens God has pitched a tent for the sun. 5It is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, like a champion rejoicing to run his course. It rises at one end of the heavens and makes its circuit to the other; nothing is deprived of its warmth.”

I love how Genesis 1 and 2 and many of the Psalms describe God as the Creator. He is an artist extraordinaire and he delights in what he creates. He creates good and very good, meaning that all of creation is precious in his sight. This is why Jesus comes, not just to save humanity from their sin, but to renew the entire creation so that one day it will once again be good and very good. It also means that we are to both protect and enjoy this creation and all created things because they all belong to God.

C.T Article 9. God formed sky, land, and sea; stars above, moon and sun, making a world of color, beauty, and variety—a fitting home for plants and animals, and us—a place to work and play, worship and wonder, love and laugh. God rested and gave us rest. In the beginning everything was very good.
