Rom. 8:28-30 Family!

posted Apr 20, 2020, 8:22 AM by Jacob Boer

We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose. For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn within a large family. And those whom he predestined he also called; and those whom he called he also justified; and those whom he justified he also glorified.

During this time of physical isolation from everyone, including our church family, just knowing that I belong to a group of people who are thinking about me and my family, are praying for us, and who feel connected to us even if we can’t be physically together has been a source of hope and strength for my family and I.

I have also gained a much greater appreciation for simply being together with each other. I love my family, but I realize much better now how much my church family is part of who I am as well. I am very grateful to Jesus for calling us into family together, thankful for each one of you, and strengthened by the sense of family this gives me, even while we are physically apart!

Q. What do you believe concerning “the holy catholic church”?

A. I believe that the Son of God through his Spirit and Word, out of the entire human race, from the beginning of the world to its end, gathers, protects, and preserves for himself a community chosen for eternal life and united in true faith. And of this community I am and always will be a living member.
